We have been using the Obeo solutions from the first version with Obeo Designer. At this time, it was a key technology to allow our development team to build easily and quickly a first graphical editor, and ease the end user adoption of this approach. Proposing a graphical editor to safety engineers working usually with Excel sheet was a little revolution which should never be possible without Obeo. Discover in this talk our Sirius experience, from this first try to the build of an industrial grade solution, what were our success and the pitfalls encountered.

Microsoft DevOps for AI with GoDataDrivenGoDataDriven
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies extend the capabilities of software applications that are now found throughout our daily life: digital assistants, facial recognition, photo captioning, banking services, and product recommendations. The difficult part about integrating AI or ML into an application is not the technology, or the math, or the science or the algorithms. The challenge is getting the model deployed into a production environment and keeping it operational and supportable. Software development teams know how to deliver business applications and cloud services. AI/ML teams know how to develop models that can transform a business. But when it comes to putting the two together to implement an application pipeline specific to AI/ML — to automate it and wrap it around good deployment practices — the process needs some effort to be successful.

Over the years that I’ve taught the various infrastructure products from Autodesk, most are not familiar with the different tools to generate plans quickly. AutoCAD includes the Sheet Set Manager at the core level to address basic sheet creation and title block data administration. Map 3D includes the MapBook tool to generate plans that require a grid arrangement. Lastly, Civil 3D has Plan tools that create Plan sheets, Profile sheets, Section sheets and any combination.
If you are a Civil 3D user being asked to provide data to your GIS department, if you are being asked to use GIS data as background data for your designs, or if you think GIS is a four letter word; this class will answer this all too common question, “Why should I care about GIS?” You will learn to import GIS data not only as AutoCAD objects, but also directly as Civil 3D objects like Surfaces and Pipe Networks that leverage the existing database information. Once that data is in Civil 3D we will explore ways to leverage it with labeling tools and other display techniques. This popular class has won awards at Autodesk University, don’t miss your chance to learn how the GIS tools in Civil 3D can make you more productive by automating common everyday tasks.

Many CAD / Building Information Modeling (BIM) managers have little to no direct managerial authority over the staffers they support, yet they’re still expected to get results. To make things worse, many times these managers are also engineers, architects, or designers working under severe time constraints while expected to remain billable. In this session we’ll present strategies for interaction with users and project managers that can help you persuade people to comply with key CAD/BIM management directives such as standards, file storage, training, and interdepartmental coordination even though you have no real authority to do so. And as we investigate these strategies we’ll also present ways you can work to gain real authority as a CAD manager over time. Even if you do have some authority today, you’re sure to pickup some great tips in this session.
CAD managers are often tasked with maintaining and enforcing CAD standards yet there is very little awareness of how CAD standards can impact quality control. Simply put, CAD managers need to think of how they can use their normal maintenance, standards and support activities to become engines of quality improvement. In this session we’ll examine leading quality management concepts including Deming theory, Andon chords, and Kaizen process controls in a way that is applicable to CAD users and managers alike. Along the way special emphasis will be placed on how you can use these concepts to advance your career as you help your company build a leaner, meaner, faster and more profitable CAD environment via a deliberative process of quality control. Be ready to challenge the way you think about CAD management in this thought provoking session.
Have you ever asked yourself, “Why doesn’t Revit do that quicker?” Have you ever wished you could pull a lot of external data into Revit at one time? Have you ever wished that you could program Revit without being a coder?
Are you using worksets in Revit? Are your consultants using worksets too? Do you feel restricted by Revit Server? Are you tired of the relentless transferring of Revit models to exchange updates between the entire design team? See some of the integration offerings for Autodesk Vault to Autodesk PLM 360 using Jitterbit. There are different ways to integrate these products depending on how your organization currently uses or plans to use Autodesk Vault. Autodesk Vault along with PLM 360 are robust tools for data and product lifecycle management. They offer a company different tools and process workflows to deal with their design and manufacturing data. Often times Autodesk Vault is serving an organization by assisting with things like data management, engineering BOM management, and perhaps change orders that affect engineering, drafters, and designers. PLM 360 on the other hand may be managing the entire product BOM, complete Change Management cycle, along with other important data related to the product design process. These things could include items & BOMs, suppliers, vendors, change management, approvals, etc. In PLM 360 there may even be ties into quality management, customer management, or other applications. Integration is key to tie the design critical information stored by engineering in PDM to the downstream processes that flow through the rest of the organization. Integration reduces time and mistakes that commonly take place when systems are isolated and managing redundant pieces of information.
Join us for this fast paced webinar as Cadalyst author Robert Green covers all the parameters organizations need to think about when planning for their CAD future, including:

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
