A. In traveling throughout Europe, South America, China, Japan, South

be productive and excel, yet one benefits from allowing for different
rhythms and ways to contribute. My experience has also taught me that
what is essentially applicable to other markets, as different as it may seem
in nature, will eventually become applicable to sub-markets in the US.
Finally, it has enabled me to tolerate individual needs and differences
while still aiming at the common goal.
QWhat do you consider your greatest professional accomplishment?
A. In 2008 I led an initiative to add a key new technology to our data
protection product (BackupExec) as a means to gain a competitive market
advantage. I gathered technical teams knowledgeable in said technology
in face-to-face meetings to facilitate Engineering and Architectural
decisions and present them to Executive Staff. Once approved, I led a
global team in the development and delivery of deduplication technology
across all Windows platforms. Although difficult, arduous, and stressful, the
decision proved to be a business and commercial success for the team and
the product line. It was released in November 2009.
QWhat distinct advantage will you bring to your next employer?
A. My experience has provided me with education and inclination
to think and act strategically. I possess a mix of technical, strategic and
leadership skills which are useful and unique. I also have a multicultural
background which helps me understand other markets and cultures. I
believe that what is essentially applicable to other markets, as different as
it may seem in nature, will eventually become applicable to sub-markets
in the US.
QWhat is the secret to leading large scale change initiatives effectively?
A.There is no secret. Select the right people to lead teams, shoulder
responsibility for success and empower those you trust. Communication
of the strategy and the motivation behind success and origin of the
strategy is key.
