2. Typical demands on a conveyor
chain lubricant are
1. Reduce the friction between all components in the
system
2. Compatibility with the water used to dilute the lubricant
in central systems
3. Cleaning of conveyors
4. Compatible with beverage spills
5. Control of microbial growth in distribution the lubrication
system and on conveyors
6. Ecological compatibility
7. Compatibility with conveyor and packaging materials
3.
4. Mechanism of tribology in
conveyor lubricant
1. Direction of movement
2. Bottle bottom
3. Lubricant film
4. Surface of conveyor chain
5. Environment
This system is influenced by the surface roughness of the
bottle and the chain, the velocity of movement, the weight of
the bottle, the temperature and the properties of the lubricant.
5. Method of lubricating a conveyor
system
1. Conveyor lubricants are employed in applications in
which good gliding contact between solid surfaces such
as glass – metal or plastic – metal must be ensured.
2. Lubricants are applied onto conveyor to ensure trouble
free of bottle conveyance.
6. How to measure friction level
• The friction coefficient µ is used to evaluate and
compare the friction in different systems.
• The smaller the value of µ the lower is the friction.
• The following table gives some examples for friction and
its reduction by fluids used as lubricants:
• System µ Fluid as lubricant µ
• Stainless steel/nylon 0.30 Water 0.15 - 0.25
• Stainless steel/stainless steel 1.00 Paraffin oil 0.30
• Copper/copper 0.90 Paraffin oil 0.30
• Stainless steel/glass 2.25 Water 0.40
• Stainless steel/glass 2.25 Conveyor chain lubricant 0.05 - 0.20
7. How to measure
• Fr: Force measured on
the tension spring.
• Fn: Weight of the bottle
Evaluation
8. Our SILKYLUBE ECO HYBRID
will focus on
1. Take away the unnecessary!
2. Optimum in hygiene of line
3. Optimum in operational costs (lube-water)
4. Optimum maintenance-cost
5. Best operational performance
6. Best security for operators @ SAVING 60-70% WATER

• Dosage:0.2% - 0.4%
• With longer lubricating effect from Silkylube lubricant, OFF
cycles (second) during lubricating can be increased
Water and lubricant usage will be cut down significantly
and therefore the OPERATION COST REDUCTION.
• Conveyor system is clean.
