Walt Disney founded The Walt Disney Company in 1923 with his brother Roy Disney. They first created Mickey Mouse in 1932 and went on to produce Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937, launching Disney into feature animated films. Disney expanded into television in the 1940s and other businesses in the 1950s like Disneyland theme park in 1955. Walt Disney's dream was to create wholesome entertainment that the whole family could enjoy. Today Disney has diversified into different business segments like media networks, studio entertainment, parks and resorts, consumer products and interactive media to continue delivering on its brand promise of fun, family and entertainment. It faces ongoing challenges of staying true to its legacy while innovating for the future.
