It is a substance which is made up of
only one kind of atom
Eg: Gold, silver, calcium, Hydrogen

matter which cannot be broken
down into simpler substances by
chemical reaction

10. SUSPENSION
A suspension is a heterogeneous mixture in which solute particles do not dissolve but
remain suspended throughout the bulk of the medium.
Properties of a suspension
1. It is a heterogeneous mixture
2. The particles of suspension can be seen by the naked eye.
3. The particles of suspension scatter a beam of light passing through it.
4. The solute particles settle down when a suspension is left undisturbed.So it is
unstable
