what can you say as a teacher about this question?

1. IS HOMEWOK HARMFUL OR HELPFUL?
Whether or not homework is harmful or helpful is cause of contradiction
between parents,teachers and students;each of them has tried to explain
how important homework is.But in fact, assignhomework has advantages
and disadvantages.Some parents argue that homework butts in to family
time and is the origin of stress for themselves and their children; teachers see
homework as a proof of students are practicing at home;students tell that
homework takes up the free time for other activities apart from
schools.Homework supply much time for reinforcement of work learned
during the school time. May be stress and frustration in students have been
results of homework that teacher assign but parents cannot refuse because it
help their children to practice and to get a better knowledge.
According to EDUCATION WEEK “An online survey of over 1.000
teachers 500 parents and 2.100 students, conducted by MetLife found that
90percent of students reported that homework caused additional stress to
children. When the time at school finish the kids just want to stay at home
and relax because they have already been exercising their brains all day at
the school”. But what happen if the students arrive at home and their books
are not seen during the rest of the day and they do not practice for the next
lesson, probably they will not be ready because they can forget some aspects
of the previews lesson.
Studies in Britain show that parents who take an interest in their
children´s homework they would have better knowledge and it helps
students to develop a good working attitude;parents have controversial
opinion of homework but they highlight that too much homework produce
frustration and stress; in accordance with Mitch Hammer who says
“homework is stressful,it can lead to frustration,it limits the amount of free
time a students has,it affects a student social life,it can affect a family
emotionally, it takes away time in which more productive things can get
one”, but what kind of productive things the writer refers maybe playing

2. videogames, watching television or visiting friends; studying for the next
lesson must be one of those productive things and parents are not seeing the
advantages of homework but they express their preoccupation when their
children have low yield.
“Homework helps build learning and study habits”(Cooper)homework
are not designed to do less in class, it is assigned by the teacher as a tool for
students to practice at home and reinforcement all that students learned in
class. Teachers use homework to get scores and the most important aspect
to promote students discipline fulfilling deadline.
Many students do not want to do homework; in any way it helps
students to gain knowledge. If the teacher leave a homework, the students
do it and the teacher check it the next day, it can help to the teacher to
identify if the students have problems in solving the homework and the
teacher can clarify their doubts if they did not understand the previews
lesson, may be the homework produce frustration or stress but homework
are necessary for students to improve in class or can you imagine how would
be the next class without assign homework and students will not be ready for
the lesson?.
