This document discusses the debate around whether cooking should be considered an art form. Some argue that cooking is simply following recipes and not using imagination, while others believe great cooks can create new dishes and put their own style into food to change the taste. The document also notes that while recipes exist, the same dish made by different cooks may taste different based on their skills. 1. Most of us would agree that mosaic walls in the Dome of the Rock, and pyramids
in Egypt are architectural art throughout the history, also painting, but what about
cooking? Art is a combination of imagination that no one has brought before and skills
that are beautiful or express certain feelings, so, do people consider cooking an art?
And why should we consider cooking an art? And why we should not? This argument
will be discussed in my essay and explained what are the things that make cooking an
art and what are the things that don'tmake it?
Some people say cooking is an important aspect, but it is not art, and it is just for
the rich. Almost when you ask them why? They answer because art needs created
imagination that express about beautiful things and feelings, while cooking does not.
Cooking must be in specific traditional quantities and recipes to be good, the cooker
cannot use different ingredients to prepare new food. So, how we can consider
something that is standard to be a kind of art? And also they say because cooking does
not need special skills such as art. For example, anyone can be learned how to cook,
and anyone can also use cooking books to prepare food. So, it’s still the case that
using imagination and skills for painting different from using books to prepare food.
Although some people believe that cooking must be considered as art, just like
painting and sculptures, and it cannot be said that cooking is not an art absolutely. It is
true that cooking does not need skills and imagination, but it still have some things in
common with arts. For example, Cooker can create new things in the food that will
change its taste for the better , cooking may have some innovation. In addition to, if
the cooking is standard, then all food of the same type will have the same taste, but in

To conclude, some believe cooking is a king of art and others believe it is not,
and all have their reasons for their believe. But I think despite it does not need
imagination, I think it needs skills. Because although the food have the same
preparation style, there are artist cookers using different styles to prepare better food
have different taste, and not any cooker can prepare this food using the traditional
styles. So, every cooker is an artist and cooking is an art, but the quality of the food
depends on the quality of the artist.
