Island Time Innovation Unit Tuesday 5th March 2013
Aims



●   To reflect on and evaluate Ronald Lui & Partner's initial
    concept design for Island School if it were to be redeveloped
    on the Borrett Road site. Please remember that this concept
    design has been created just to see if a school the size we
    need organized in the kind of way we want is possible on the
    current site. This is not what a new school will look
    like it is just an early idea.
Key outcomes from the Technical Viability Study


●   TVS period = January - September 2012
●   Students, teachers, parents and alumni have all taken part in the
    consultation process and workshops
The evolving vision for the new school

●   A truly inspirational building;
●   Will keep many of the positive features of the existing site;
●   Reflects our international community, internationalism and our
    school values;
●   Deliberately supports the school house system;
●   Clear sightlines - quadrangle arrangement etc;
●   Emphasis on adaptability / flexibility;
●   More breakout areas for informal learning;
●   Accommodation that actively supports our developing curriculum;
●   A fully accessible and inclusive campus;
●   A sustainable building in every way.
