2. What is Ark Eden?
● A project to preserve the islands ecological,
geographical, historical and cultural heritage by
following a sustainable lifestyle and to provide
inspirational educational and eco-tourism
opportunities for for all ages tourists and
residents
● Designed to meet school curriculum standards
and community needs in HK, with a strong
environmental sustainability.
● A place where students are able to cooperate
and collaborate with each other to achieve the
same certain goal that will hopefully benefit HK
specifically.
3. How will we achieve our
goals?
● Make a collaboration between WANBO and Ark Eden so
that we can make other plans in the future
● Some selected students can visit on weekends to help
with the elderly or disadvantaged children every few
weeks
4. Our CAS Trip Aim:
The core aim of our CAS trip is to raise awareness of the
environment in Hong Kong. We want to educate
ourselves and others about the ecology and culture of
Hong Kong, specifically Lantau as it is one of the last
remaining wild places. By increasing our awareness of
Hong Kong's surroundings, we are able to learn ways to
preserve the environment and by taking on these
methods and developing them further to create bigger
impacts, we learn commitment to our plans and develop
new skills on the way. Initiating these new projects will
help students undertake new challenges and work
together to make a difference to our environment.
5. Logistics (Part 1)
Transportation:-
- Free Activity Bus to Central Pier No. 6
- Staying in Mui Wo - Short Ferry Ride on 1st Day from Central to
Lantau Island - $14.50
- Bus Depot to Destination Ark Eden
- 5 day program ($2000 HK)
- Free Bus Depot to Mui Wo Ferry - Short Ferry Ride to Central - $14.50
- Make way back home or activities bus back to school at the end of the
CAS trip
Cost:-
- HK$2000 a week (includes stay over in Lantau Island)
Schedule:-
- 5 days from around 8:30am to 4:30pm
6. Logistics (Part 2)
Kit List:
- Small Backpack - school bag size to carry water bottle, jacket, hat, snacks etc. during the day
- Water bottle at least 1 litre
- Old Training or running shoes appropriate for Ark Eden activities
- 2-3 pair of long pants (lightweight or tracksuit trousers) - jeans are not suitable
- 2 long sleeved shirts
- 2 pairs of shorts
- 3-4 T-shirts
- Warm fleece and sweater
- Lightweight waterproof/windproof jacket
- Underwear (5 pieces)
- Towels) for bath
- Board Shorts and Bathing Suits
- Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body gel, toothbrush and toothpaste)
- Sun Hat to avoid potential sunburn or heat stroke
- Sunscreen (at least SPF 15)
- Insect repellent
- Laundry Bag for dirty clothes
- Notebook and Pen
Note:- Ark Eden will provide students with bikes to ride on to improve fitness and healthy.
