5. INTRODUCTION AND SUMMARY FOR
Brahmam and Ajmeri have developed the gas-operated iron,which is
simple design and have low operating cost.
This eliminates the problems associated with irregular supply of electricity
and availability of coal.
It is a low cost, gas operated iron used to press the wrinkles out of and
creases in clothes.It is ideal for tailor and cloth washer due to its cost
effectiveness, and simplicity in design.In this, there is a silver knob on the
side at which the pipe is fitted. The pipe is connected to a cylinder at the
other end.Turning the knob at the back anti clock wise turns it on.
The temperature is also adjusted using it. There is also a
A knob in the front, which can be moved to note the temperature.
The handle is wooden and a stand is also there.

8. SUMMARY OF THIS WONDERFUL INVENTION
Inventor-Henry W. Seeley
The electric iron was invented in 1882 by Henry W. Seeley, a New York
inventor. Seeley patented his "electric flatiron" on June 6, 1882. His iron
weighed almost 15 pounds and took a long time to warm up.
A modern clothes iron is a household appliance used to press the wrinkles
out of and creases into clothes. When the iron is turned on, the consumer
moves it over an item of clothing on an ironing board. The combination of
heat and pressure removes wrinkles.
It uses electricity to iron the clothes .It, nowadays, comes with many
features such as steaming and spraying of water.Some companies such as
Philips AND Morphy Richards also have models which can run on their own.
