Introduction
The acceptance of project management as a profession
indicates that the application of knowledge, processes, skills,
tools, and techniques can have a significant impact on project
success.
IPMP Training will identify the project management body of
knowledge that is generally recognized as good practice.
Where
"Generally recognized" means the knowledge and practices
described are applicable to most projects most of the time, and
there is consensus about their value and usefulness, and "Good
practice" means the general agreement that the application of

incorporated under the Companies Code, 1963 (Act 179) as a private Company limited by guarantee, duly registered as a
Professional Body in accordance with the provisions of the Professional Bodies Registration Decree, 1973 (NRCD 143) as
Chartered Project Management Institute (CPMI) with Professional Bodies Registration Numbers PB. 68 to train
professionals in project management.
Institute Project Management is an African based professional body offering training and qualification in Project

This Level is open to all individuals yearning to be relevant in all fields. The objective of this qualification is to empower and increase the

Doctoral Fellow in Project Management (Professional Doctorate - FPMP)
Doctoral Fellow Program builds on the foundation of the Certified Project management Consultant, Certified Project Procurement Engineer,
Certified Project Financial Engineer and Master’s Degree in Project Management to help prepare members for senior level leadership,
consulting, and teaching positions within business, government, nonprofit organizations, etc. Doctoral Fellow Candidate in this concentration

Program Description
IPMP Doctoral Fellow Program builds on the foundation of the Certified Project management Consultant, Certified
Project Procurement Engineer, Certified Project Financial Engineer and Master’s Degree in Project Management to
help prepare members for senior level leadership, consulting, and teaching positions within business, government,
nonprofit organizations, etc. Doctoral Fellow Candidate in this concentration are educated to discover new solutions

define problems, study advanced content knowledge to discover innovative solutions, and practice consulting and
leadership techniques to facilitate innovative change in organizations, communities, and society. Using these skills,
members may find opportunities as leaders within nonprofit organizations and businesses, as consultants, or as
faculty within higher education
The Doctoral Fellow Membership (DFM) at Institute of Project Management is a Professional Doctoral for Project
Management professionals. The program prepares Member Candidate to think and act strategically and enhance
their abilities to make positive contributions in their chosen area of management expertise. The program emphasizes
three sets of competencies:
• Specific Concentration discipline – Level I
• Leadership and Change Management – Level II
• Research andWriting – Level III
In addition, graduation requires the approval of a dissertation which documents the student’s research processes and
presents the findings and conclusions of that research, and suggests future research. The dissertation is divided into
two major segments: the proposal and the full dissertation. The proposal will be developed by the Candidate, and
then submitted by the mentor to the Institute Review Board. The research will then be conducted and written up,
resulting in the full dissertation, which is then reviewed by a committee. These processes are conducted under the
