 Employergrantfourteen dayssickleave basingonthe recommendationsof registered
practitioner.
 On completionof one yearcontinuousservice,adultworkergetone dayannual leave for
eighteendaysof work.
 On completionof one yearservice,youngworkersgetone dayannual leave forfifteendays
of work.
 Balance or un availedannual leaveare carriedforwardtothe nextcalendaryear.
 Interruptionsof service due toanyauthorizedleave orholiday,layoff orlegal strike are
consideredascontinuousservice.
 Womenemployeesare allowedsixteenweeks maternityleave.
 Everyworkerget elevendaysFestival holidayinayearwithfull pay.

Q3. Explain the ruleson leave and holidays?
Answer:
Here they are,
• Weeklyholiday
One dayoff in a weekasweeklyholiday. If notprovidedforanyurgency,shouldbe sanctioned
equal numberof day/days
• Casual leave
Tendays ina calendaryearwithfull wages.Shall notremainasbalance forthe nextyear. Be applied
and approvedbythe facility.Cannotbe taggedatboth endswithotherleaves
• Sickleave
Fourteendaysina year,withfull wages. A registered practitionerhastocertify. Balance of such
leave are notcarried forward
• Annual leave
Adult– one day forevery18 daysof work,oncompletionof one yearcontinuousservice.Young
person- one dayfor every15 days of work.Shall be withfull wages.Shall be inclusive of any
holiday.Balance willremainforthe nextcalendaryear.Max balance – 60 days,For young– 80 days.
Leave appliedbutrefused,shall be addedtothe creditof workerbeyondthe mentionedlimit

Entitledif workedforatleastsix monthsimmediatelyproceedingthe tentativedate of delivery.
Entitledtoget16 weeksleave withaverage paycalculatedbasedonlastthree monthssalary.Shall
be allowed08 weeksbefore deliveryand08 weeksafterdelivery.Shallgive noticeeitherorallyorin
writingtothe employer.
Q4. Define salary and wages. what are includesinwages?
Answer:
In shortform,Salary referstothe amountof moneya workergetsina month.
Wagesis the remunerationpaidtoa workerforhis/herservice inthe factoryandincludesonlythe
performance wages.Usuallyitreferstothe hourlyrate.
Wagesincludes ,
Bonusor otheradditional remuneration.
Remunerationof holidayandovertime works.
Remunerationpayable foranyorderof the court.
Moneypayable forlayoff or temporarydismissal
Q5. Parameters on wages and salary?
Answer:
Everybodygetssalaryandwagesas persalary scale approvedbygovt.
Salaryis paidbefore the expiryof 7thdayof the wage period
Wagesfor the ‘removal fromservice’casesare paidwithinsevenworkingdaysfromthe day
of terminationof employment
All paymentsare made on workingdays5. Employerdonot carry out un authorized
deductionof wages
The wage boardreviewsthe wagesineverythree years
For overtime payment,workersgetatthe rate of twice of basicwages,dearnessallowances
and interimwages
Employersdonotdeductwagesfor authorizedleaveandholidays
Workercan fulfil theirbasicneedswiththe existingwagesandsalary.
