This document discusses 10 locations around the world where significant earthquakes are expected based on past earthquake activity and tectonic plate boundaries. These locations include areas near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia; the Ryukyu Islands below Japan; Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands; fault lines in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans; Ecuador and Peru; Chile; the California Transform Fault; and the Himalayan mountain range. The document also notes that the hardest earthquakes to predict are the exact locations, but risk can be assessed based on history and plate tectonics. Areas around the Pacific Ocean's "Ring of Fire" and along convergent and transform plate boundaries often see major quakes. Chile
