Intuition uses a right brain approach to generate ideas and solutions from a
divergent thinking perspective. In other words it’s called "thinking outside the
box". Hunches, impulses, brainstorming, creative ideas and timing are all based
on intuition.
Successful people often attribute their success to using their sixth sense,
their gut feeling, and their business instincts. Nevertheless most of
businessmen/managers are used to rely exclusively on their left brain when it
comes to decision-making. The left side of the brain processes logical,
intellectual and factual information which essential in problem-solving, but,
first, it doesn't give managers the full picture, and second, they don’t always
have enough time to act.
"Divergent thinking" is provided by the right side of the brain, which stores
and processes abstract, subjective and creative information. In 2002 Dr. Daniel
Kahneman got the Nobel Prize in Economics for having integrated insights from
psychological research into economic science, especially concerning human
judgment and decision-making under uncertainty.
Today it’s obvious that modern managers have to learn to leverage their
Intuitive Intelligence, so to use both sides of the brain trying to solve problems.
Emotional Intelligence (the ability to perceive and manage emotions) is the
basis of intuition. It allows businessmen to make the right decision quickly, even
without all the facts, but using the full power of their mind.
The main goals of “Intuition in Business ” course are:
 To provide managers-trainees with knowledge of Business Intuition, to
form a theoretical base for understanding, skills mastering, and practical
using of the right side of the brain as an instrument for decision-making
and problem solving;
 To train students to master practical skills, which are necessary to obtain
in order to run business successfully: the ability to perceive and manage
emotions, to use a right brain approach to generate ideas and solutions
from a divergent thinking perspective.
After the course managers-trainees

N.B. Working with intuition takes a lot of energy, so it’s wrong to modify the course to
a module. If possible, the best schedule would be 3-3.5 hours (with a coffee-break) once a
week or no more often than in a day, as each topic of the program requires some reflection
and homework.
