Definition of Pharmacy
It is an Art and Science of Preparing of
medicine from natural, synthetic and
semi-synthetic sources, suitable and
convenient materials for the treatment,
mitigation*, diagnosis, distribution, and
prevention of disease”
The word “Pharmacy” is derived from Greek word “Pharmakon” means drug or
medicine.
* Mitigation means the act of reducing how harmful, unpleasant
