Definition of Pharmacy
It is an Art and Science of Preparing of
medicine from natural, synthetic and
semi-synthetic sources, suitable and
convenient materials for the treatment,
mitigation*, diagnosis, distribution, and
prevention of disease”
The word “Pharmacy” is derived from Greek word “Pharmakon” means drug or
medicine.
* Mitigation means the act of reducing how harmful, unpleasant

A person who is responsible to
Diagnose the disease and Prescribe
drugs according to and the severity of
the disease.

administration, and toxic
manifestation.
Nurse is responsible for patient care
during administration of drug to the
patient.
