Brief Description of Thermochemical Conversion (TCC) Thermochemical Conversion (TCC) is a chemical process, based on processes well-known in the petroleum industry, that converts the waste directly into a diesel-style fuel oil. TCC has the highest known efficiency for converting BTU content of volatile solids into fuel. This fuel then can be used to run a generator and also may be blendable for on-farm usage. TCC has been demonstrated, in experiments performed at the University of Illinois, to convert 75-80% of the volatile solid BTU content into fuel. It allows complete elimination of lagoons and settling basins.
