This document provides an overview of the activities and learning experiences of a 6th grade classroom. It describes (1) outdoor expeditions like climbing a mountain for science class, (2) various academic subjects and lessons covered including science experiments, (3) tracking student performance and growth over time, (4) parent involvement through meetings and events, and (5) additional enrichment activities like literary festivals, workshops, and motivational movies. The classroom aims to develop students' skills through hands-on projects, group work, and a focus on building literacy, critical thinking, and character values like respect.

11. Our Academic Performance
Class performance in a Science Unit Test conducted at the beginning of year (NCERT chapters 1 & 2)
With every test/quiz students get a color code or a star based on their performance. Students strive to
get into the green zone or get a star. The color coding scheme helps the parents to keep track of their
child’s performance and it also builds a growth mindset in kids as with ever test/quiz they try getting a
better color code than their last one or maintaining their previous color code. This kind of result is shared
with the students after every test/quiz where stars, greens and children who have shown growth and
shown consistency are applauded in the class by their peers.

17. Building literacy through Science!!
Every week students are given a science mystery or a scientist’s inspiring story, to read, understand & to
make notes in their groups – builds reading/writing skills, note taking skills and collaboration amongst
peers
Post which students have a group quiz based on Bloom’s Levels to develop higher order thinking abilities
– guided questions enable students to think and put down their thoughts in words
