- By 2020, there will be 5 million fewer skilled jobs in the UK that require graduate qualifications, as more jobs offshore operations and outsource work. - The UK education system needs reforms to ensure 90% of youth achieve level 2 qualifications and 70% achieve level 3 by 2020 to meet the demands of the changing job market. - The proposed changes to the 14-19 curriculum aim to deliver more relevant skills through expanded apprenticeships, updated GCSEs, and combined academic/practical diplomas.
