Mariela Barba interned at H.E.B. in 2009 where she helped in the kids' market, teaching children about nutritious products and shopping so they would be prepared as adults. She worked to put products back after the kids would throw them or not return them to the proper place. Mariela also helped in the cereal and fruit sections, putting fruits back in their places. Additionally, she explained to children how elevators function by helping balls not get stuck in baskets and pushing buttons to demonstrate how the balls would fall under the roof.
