Numbers 12:6 (NKJV)
•6 Then He said,
•“Hear now My words:
If there is a prophet among you,
I, the LORD, make Myself known to him
in a vision;
I speak to him in a dream
Genesis 40:8 (NKJV)
•8 And they said to him, “We each have
had a dream, and there is no
interpreter of it.”
•So Joseph said to them, “Do not
interpretations belong to God? Tell
them to me, please.”
Recommended steps to
interpret your dreams.
•I will share with you today, the way in
which I do the interpretation of my
dreams.
•There are simple steps that is good to do
before jumping into any conclusion.
•You will find for yourself which method
suit you best.
•This is how I do it, an it works for me.
Step #1 Journal the dream
• Write down all the details, even if you think
they are not important.
• What persons, objects, or animals are there;
the positioning of each is very important.
• Expressions of the faces, tonality of voice,
attitude.
• Above, below, foreground, background, on the
left hand side or right hand side.
• Numbers are very important, colours as well.
Step #1 Journal the dream
•Pay good attention to the name of
peoples, cities, places, rivers, mountains.
•Who or what appears to be the centre of
attention in the dream?
•At what time of the day the actions in
the dreams are taking place?
Step #1 Journal the dream
•he symbols can be negative or positive.
•Most of the symbols, colour and animals
can be found in the bible.
•Animals often represent emotions.
•You have to depend on the Holy spirit to
give you revelation of what the symbols
in your dream represent.
That’s why you write down!
Step #2
Evaluate your emotions .
•Evaluate the emotions you felt when you woke
up.
•Evaluate the emotion you felt while dreaming,
Were you scared, tired, feeling lost?
•What was the overall emotion the dream
focused on?
•In real life, are you in some way feeling these
emotions?
•Is God answering your questions?
Make an evaluation
of each symbol.
•Adjectives.
•What descriptive words come into your mind?
•Feelings and emotions.
•What are your feelings toward it, what
emotions rose up?
•Action.
•What verbs or action words you use to
describe the symbol?
Step #3
Check your emotions
the previous day.
•Recall the emotions you have
experienced or the issues you were
going through during the day or the
night before the dream.
Step #4
Situate your dream
in a time line.
•Ask yourself if this dream is pointing out
to the future, is it based on some
present conditions or linked to past
events ?
•God may give you a dream to reveal
some shock or traumas that happened in
the past and are causing you pain, so
you can be able to deal with it and
receive the healing in your heart.
Step #4
Situate your dream
in a time line.
•Your present can be affected by
things that happened in the past.
•Your present will affect your future.
•Your dream can speak about an
immediate future, a near future or a
far away future.
Step #5
What type of dream is this?
•Ascertain if the dream is literal or symbolic.
•If you dream that you are flying, that is a
symbolic dream.
•If someone is about to die, it can be literal,
calling you to do something to avoid this
death.
•Someone that has died in a dream, could
represent that you are cutting ties with a
person of same qualities of the dead person.
A Symbolic Dream.
Step #6
About whom is this dream?
•Ask yourself if this dream is about
you or somebody else.
•Example if you are an observer of the
action in a dream and not a
participant this dream might be for
another person.
Step #7
Check the symbols one by one.
•Go through each symbol in the
dream asking to the Lord for
revelation about each symbol,
until you sense in your spirit that
the interpretation is complete.
Step #8
What is the center or theme of
the dream?
•Generally what impresses you more
of the dream could be the theme of
the dream.
•To find out this, you can removed
parts of the dream and see if still
makes sense.
•If it doesn’t any more, that is the
central part of your dream.
Practice
Your time now.
•And now we move to the laboratory to
analyze your dreams.
•Remember the steps.
•At times it could take some days or
even longer than that to obtain a
complete meaning of your dream.
•When you have the interpretation
of a dream, this interpretation can be
amplified, modified or re-affirmed
through other dreams or through
more revelation from the Lord.
•As the dream that we have interpreted
as an example took us more time than
the expected, we will dedicate some
extra time for this activity.
•As the dream that we have interpreted
as an example took us more time than
the expected, we will dedicate some
extra time for this activity.
•We will see another way of writing down
your dream for an easier interpretation.
•Each one of you could bring a personal
dream and we will work in pairs to find
an interpretation.
•Thank you Lord for your precious
presence and anointing in the group.
We ask you Lord that you may increase
the revelatory gifting, that you grant us a
good recalling memory to be able to
remember our dreams.
Come and visit us in our dreams, grand
us revelation of the plans you have for
us.
We ask you this in Jesus name. Amen.
