INTERNATIONALWOMEN’S DAY 2015
Women have been discriminated from the inception of human evolution to date. Although Women
playthe mainrole in Humanfamilybycontributingtothe systemof reproduction, theyare ignored. The
real reason is ambiguous and implied yet. Their rights were deprived in primitive period and in early
civilizations.
In the past, womenhave beengenerallyregardedasinferiortomanas not onlymentallyinferiortoman
but alsophysicallyinferior. InAncient, the headof the familyisfather. He had legal rights to punish any
member of his family and no legal power or rights to mother to punish any member of her family.
Mother hadno legal rightsto involvementin the public affairs. In ancient, some countries, the women
were consideredtobe non- citizens of the country. They were not usually allowed to go to the streets
except under the supervision of family member.
Once we heard “Oh Frailty thy name is women, - who is the women – not bind the frailty” like these
proverbs. Why the women are discriminated? Millions of women throughout the world live without
their basic human rights. They are deprived.
There is a saying about Ladies first theory which was said to be created in the primitive period where
people livedincaves.Duringthe period, the familymembers(husband, wife and children) left the cave
to accumulate foodsandreturnedto the same cave or another the wife had to enter the cave firstly. If
the animals were there, the wife scarifies her life and others able rescue their lives. This may be a
fabricated story but there is a discriminative factor.
The theme of the women’s day 2015,”make it happen” what can do for the women in society?
Mahatma Gandhi has said that “Woman is more fitted than man to make exploration and take bolder
actionin nonviolence. There isnooccasionforwomen to consider they subordinate or inferior to men.
Woman is the companion of man, gifted with equal mental capacity. If by strength is meant moral
power, thanwomenisimmeasurableman’s superior. If nonviolence isthe law of ourbeing, the future is
with women”.
Accordingto the above wordswe needtoempowerthe women who are living in our society. We need
to know which fields we develop to empower her. In this modern world, she have to face the future
organizational goals and challenges, economical, sociological, politically, healthy and wealthy,
educational, Occupational and so on. So, she needs modern knowledge, skills and attitudes. Improve
the knowledge, develop up the skills and change the attitudes in whole fields. In this issue, women
cannot do it alone. The government and nongovernment agencies in any country should give the
support to stand her.
Whenstart to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes from the family, no body discriminate her in
future. Because, she canexplainthe role of womeninfamilyandsociety. It means everybody born and
grown-upina family.Womenplaymanyrolesinfamily as a wife, as a mother, as a daughter, as a sister
and also as a grandmother. Everybody needs her shelter from the beginning, not only born but also in
fetus. Mothergetsgood foodswhenshe is in pregnancy and also thinks about her kid. Always hope to
get good foods, meditations, successful religious services, medical services and many good practices.
Her expectations that her kid will become a king or good person in society. And so many things in her
mind. After she gave a birth, she takes care of her kid as a flower. She has no sleep all the night, any
foods in time.
Whenstart school she has many expectationsthat he orshe how become agood citizen in society. How
geta goodjob and many hopes. Whentheybecame youngage, her dream is their marriages. After the
marriages again think that their grandsons, granddaughters and their future life.
If somebodycanimagine orunderstand thislinktheyneverdiscriminate the women. Accordingtothese
facts, women need strength to speak the society.” Do you know how I sacrifice my life for you” and if
she can explainall those thingsstepbystep, all humanbeingsworshipher. So, how we do it? We need
technologies.Womenmayknowhowtouse these technologies. If there are technologies butshe hasno
goodknowledge howtouse it,ithas no worthy. But,herkids may use this technology sometimes good
manner, sometimesbadmanner.Andalsoshe mayhave the capacity to develop the skills. Whatever it
is,if,she refusesto change herattitudesshe wouldbe face the discriminations or vulnerable situation.
Our expectationispeaceful world. If she canawake her voice, we can keep the hopes that without any
kindof crimes, without rape or sexual abuses or without discriminations society. If she able to start to
develop the norms and values from her house, our expectations will be success. Make it happen…..
