10. BSO – Status for NQT to full QTS/ QTLS
Overseas:
Only BSO schools can take NQTs through induction and
only as a member of a DoE regional organisation and in
partnership with a UK Appropriate Body.
QTS: Qualified Teacher Status
QTLS: Qualified Teaching & Learning Status
NQT: Newly Qualified Teacher (QTS carry out often 1
year- from Sept 2020 the expectation is 2 years)
FET Trainee is expected to obtain QTLS after
securing a role (6 months to complete it online with
the Society for Education, SET)
