An Interactive Science Notebook (ISN) is a portfolio of a student's work that is organized into two sections - the left side for learning and teacher input, and the right side for student reflection and output. The left side contains lecture notes, lab procedures and activities, while the right side holds data, conclusions, drawings, and reflective writing from experiments. Notebooks are divided colorfully and creatively with supplies like colored pencils, glue, and scissors. Rules require all pages and handouts to be neatly organized and dated in the notebook for science class use only.
