Instructional leadership is leadership that supports the
development of teaching and learning. It is referred to
using different names including pedagogical leadership,
learning-centered leadership, leadership for learning,
and student-centered leadership. These terms can be
considered under the broad umbrella of instructional
leadership and represent the specific and focused
practices in which school leaders engage to intentionally
support the development of effective teaching and
learning in schools.

concur that instructional leadership has

Management (SBM)

initiative by developing power or
authority to school heads and students.
• Is a strategy to improve education by
transferring significant decision-
making authority from state and
district offices to individual schools.

work together with community leaders,

other stakeholders to improve school
performance.

6. School Improvement Plan
contains the profile of the school and the community,
problems and needs assessment, goals, objectives,
standards and targets, implementation plan, monitoring
and evaluation plan, communication and advocacy
plan, documentation and reporting to stakeholders, and
signatories.
