Key benefits highlighted include generating sponsorship opportunities, moderating content appropriately, and collecting valuable attendee data and feedback. Successful case studies of Instant Opinion QnA being used at various technology and business events are also described.
Organizations need to follow a mobile-centric design paradigm to reach today’s customers. Responsive web design is just one element in today’s web designers’ toolbox. This presentation, given at IBM Smarter Commerce Conference 2014 by CoreMedia’s Jochen Toppe discusses the challenges today’s web designers and marketers face, and offers an in-depth look at real-world requirements, potential pain points, and solutions.
The key rules, guidelines and associated risks for NFA registered firms and suggests ways that organizations can use technology to protect themselves and Members. In addition, it looks at some of the other issues that enterprises may encounter when enabling the new internet. In Actiance’s Fifth Annual Internet Usage Survey, which compares IT Estimates against live data from over 200 Actiance deployed appliances, over 99% of end users had adopted social media and Web 2.0 applications to support business processes. Conversely 38% of IT professionals believed there was no social networking present on their network. Enterprise communication tools still have their place within an organization, but users will always look to communicate in the easiest method. If their customer is conversing over Yahoo or Skype, users will try to access the relevant Web 2.0 application. Similarly, social networking sites such as LinkedIn and Twitter are now standard tools for savvy marketers and sales people.

Talk delivered at YOW! Developer Conferences in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney Australia on 1-9 December 2016.
Abstract: Governments collect a lot of data. Data on air quality, toxic chemicals, laws and regulations, public health, and the census are intended to be widely distributed. Some data is not for public consumption. This talk focuses on open government data — the information that is meant to be made available for benefit of policy makers, researchers, scientists, industry, community organisers, journalists and members of civil society.
We’ll cover the evolution of Linked Data, which is now being used by Google, Apple, IBM Watson, federal governments worldwide, non-profits including CSIRO and OpenPHACTS, and thousands of others worldwide.
Next we’ll delve into the evolution of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Open Data service that we implemented using Linked Data and an Open Source Data Platform. Highlights include how we connected to hundreds of billions of open data facts in the world’s largest, open chemical molecules database PubChem and DBpedia.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Data scientists, software engineers, data analysts, DBAs, technical leaders and anyone interested in utilising linked data and open government data.

The complexity of Medical image reconstruction requires tens to hundreds of billions of computations per second. Until few years ago, special purpose processors designed especially for such applications were used. Such processors require significant design effort and are thus difficult to change as new algorithms in reconstructions evolve and have limited parallelism. Hence the demand for flexibility in medical applications motivated the use of stream processors with massively parallel architecture. Stream processing architectures offers data parallel kind of parallelism.

The Evolution and Future of Business VideoMediaPlatform
The days of using video in the enterprise solely for employee training are gone. Video is now a fully integrated business tool that has become a requirement for any organization with a desire for effective and efficient internal and external communication. Understanding how to seamlessly integrate a media platform to manage your content delivery and distribution is essential, as are video applications with the ability to address the specific needs of each department.
Remote collaboration is important for any line of work where people are divided by time and space, but the need is expanded in a creative industry where there is an increased requirement of collaboration, communication, and execution of ideas.
When you work for a creative agency with colleagues and clients around the country (and developers around the world), how can you improve and streamline the creative collaboration process?

Hybrid events, theories and techniques to extend the reach of an eventStefania Conti-Vecchi
This very practical seminar presented by Stefania Conti-Vecchi at the EVETEX conference in Sofia in February 2014, showed how to extend the reach of an event and provided solutions and tools to turn it into a hybrid one that can involve a wider audience. Having defined the difference between a simple virtual connection and a hybrid event, the seminar identified the type of event most suitable for the new format, the management techniques to seize opportunities arising from them and the possible financial advantages. You can find in the slides a check-list of necessary technologies and specific aspects of the format, with suggestions on how to promote a hybrid event on social media sites and measure its ROE (Return On Engagement). Every aspect has been analysed from different viewpoints: that of the organiser, the speaker/facilitator, the venue hosting the event and of course the “real” and “virtual” participants. Finally, some examples of hybrid events (board meetings, conventions, sales training etc.), showing the pros and cons of the solutions adopted.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
