Jennifer Li analyzed data from over 13,000 dogs in shelters from 2007 to 2013 to identify factors that predicted whether dogs would be adopted or euthanized. She found that dogs with names were 25% more likely to be adopted than unnamed dogs, and dogs pictured alone were 14% more likely to be adopted than dogs pictured in groups. A logistic regression model accurately predicted adoption outcomes for 89% of dogs based on attributes like breed, health, gender, and name.
