INTRODUCTION The goal of this programming project is to entble students practice solving a
problem that uses the Python features of functions and lists. PROBLEM Write a program that
inputs names of personal expenses and a corresponding amount for each expense. The program
should store all input data in lists. The program should present the user with a main menu to
select options to: 1. Input personal expense names 2. Input personal expense amounts 3. Display
the expenses (names and amounts) 4. Exit the program The program should then allow the user
to select how the information will be displayed from the list of: (a) pie chart (b) bar chart (c)
table. The program should achieve this in functions described below. To ensure good
programming and modularity, none of the functions should call itself and the only function calls
should be in the main function. Functions should not be defined inside other functions. At the
bottom, there should be a statement that calls the main function. No function call to main should
happen inside the main function. Here are the descriptions of what should be in the functions: 1.
main This function will have statements to call the other functions and display the main menu.
The first function called will input names of the expenses into a list and assign the list to a list
object. The second call will pass the expense items list to a function that inputs expense amounts
into a second list that is then assigned to a list object. The third call passes the two lists to a
function that will display the contents on the two lists. Here are the Python statements:
expenseItems = InputExpenseNames () expenseAmounts = InputExpenseAmounts
(expenseItems) DisplayExpenseReport (expenseItems, expenseAmounts) 2. InputExpenseNames
First create an empty list for expense items. Next, enter a loop that iterates for as long as the user
responds that there are more item names to enter. In the loop, display a message asking the user
to input the name of an expense item, then input the name and append it to the list. Then input a
response to the question whether there are more item names.
3. InputExpenseAmounts Create an empty list for expense amounts. Enter a loop that uses the
size (you may use the len function) of the expense items list to determine number of iterations.
For each iteration, display a message that says: How much was spent on xocxxoxxocx expense
item? where x x xxxxxxx is replaced by the name from the expense_items_list corresponding to
the current iteration. The amount should then be input and appended to the expense amounts list.
Input validation should be done including using try ... except ... to ensure a number was entered.
After the loop ends, return the expense amounts list. 4. DisplayExpenseReport Parameters to this
function will be the expense items and expense amounts lists. Your program should offer the
user the menu of (a) table display (b) pie chart (c) bar chart. When the user selects option (a), the
program.
INTRODUCTION One of the most useful and powerful plots in astrophysic.pdfameancal
INTRODUCTION One of the most useful and powerful plots in astrophysics is the
Hertzsprung-Russell diagram (hereafter called the HR or simply HR diagram). It originated in
1911 when the Danish astronomer, Ejnar Hertzsprung, plotted the absolute magnitude of stars
against their color (hence effective temperature). Independently in 1913 the American
astronomer Henry Norris Russell used spectral class against absolute magnitude. Figure 1
illustrates the general layout of an HR diagram. Here, the x-axis is in Kelvin, but sometimes
stellar color or spectral class is used. The y-axis is in units of the Sun's luminosity, but absolute
magnitude is employed very often. Absolute magnitude is the apparent magnitude of a star that's
10 parsecs (31.6 ly) distant. Note that temperatures decrease to the right. Stars in the left are
hotter; those at the top are more luminous. Plotting numerous stars on the diagram showed that
the relationship between temperature and luminosity of a star was not random but instead
appeared to fall into distinct groups. These are seen in the HR diagram below. It has a few
specific stars included in the plot but otherwise just shows the main regions.
The majority of stars, including our Sun, are found along a region called the Main Sequence.
Main Sequence stars vary widely in effective temperature but the hotter they are, the more
luminous they are, and hence the main sequence tends to follow a band going from the bottom
right of the diagram to the top left. These stars are fusing hydrogen to helium in their cores. Stars
spend the bulk of their existence as main sequence stars. Other major groups of stars found on
the HR diagram are the giants and supergiants; luminous stars that have evolved off the main
sequence, and the white dwarfs. Whilst each of these types is discussed in detail in later pages
we can use their positions on the H-R diagram to infer some of their properties. Axes A
sometimes confusing feature of the HR diagram is that the scales on the axes actually decreases
left to right, that is the highest temperature is on the left-hand side. Additionally, different
properties can be used on the axes. If color index (B-V) rather than effective temperature is used
then it goes from negative (blue) on the left to positive (red) on the right. A third alternative
along the horizontal axis is to use spectral class. Of course, all three quantities are essentially
showing the same thing. The diagram below shows the possible axes for an HR diagram.
Megure s: Axe: jor H-K Dlagrow The vertical axis displays the luminosity of the stars. This is
either as a ratio compared with that of the Sun or as absolute magnitude, M. One point to be
careful of when using absolute magnitude is to remember that the lower or more negative the
absolute magnitude, the more luminous the star. The brightest stars therefore appear at the top of
the HR diagram with the vertical axis having the most negative value of M at the top. In some
circumstances,.

International Trade Closing Cases and Discussions 1. Tadoo's Sales to Belgium Tadoo Inc. is a
chemical company incorporated in the state of Tennessee and engaged in the production and sale
of various chemical products used to kill harmful insects or strip leaves from trees. Since the
company was established in 1980 , it has generated gross sales of over $60 million largely from
sales in the United States and West European countries. Its sales agents and distributors are
located in over a dozen countries. In September 2000 , the Belgian government advertised for a
purchase of $20 million of chemical products. The winner of the bid was required to provide
financing for a period of two years. Given Tadoo's inability to secure private or public financing
for the sale, it decided to contact a forfaiter to explore the possibility of financing the deal. Tadoo
provided the forfaiter with important details to establish the viability of the transaction including
its delivery date, repayment terms (four semi-annual repayments over a two-year period), interest
rate (payable by buyer) and an L/C instrument to be opened in favor of Tadoo through a Belgian
bank. The forfaiter calculated the expected costs (discount rate, commitment fees, etc.) necessary
to sell the receivable and added it to the commercial contract so that Tadoo would be able to
receive 100 percent of the required cash value. This helped Tadoo to submit a contract price that
would include financing expenses. The forfaiter also examined the structure of the transaction to
ensure that it had maximum liquidity. This includes the financing period, country risk, and credit
risk. The forfaiter is expected to resell the transaction in the market.
Prior to the submission of the bid, Tadoo entered into a detailed contract with the forfaiter. The
contract required Tadoo to sell the receivable to the forfaiter and stated the terms and conditions
of the contract. It also provided Tadoo with the option to cancel the contract with no liability in
the event that Tadoo fails to win the bid. A month after the submission of the bid, the Belgian
government informed Tadoo that it has been awarded the contract. Tadoo began to manufacture
the product and supplied the product to the buyer in special shipping containers in accordance
with the terms of the contract. Four bills of exchange were accepted by the Belgian Bank and
later endorsed by Tadoo to the forfaiter without recourse and provided to the latter with
supporting documentation. The forfaiter received and verified the documents and paid \$20
million to Tadoo. Tadoo is required to honor all its contractual commitments pertaining to
product support and warranty but the financial risk associated with the bill of exchange maturing
over a two-year period had been sold to the forfaiter without recourse. Questions 1. Would
Tadoo encounter problems if it was exporting to a developing country? 2. Is this method more
beneficial to Tadoo than other forms of financi.

Instructions: Answer ALL questions in this section. CASE STUDY Peter has just been assigned
to the Operations Department as one of two (2) Senior Operations Officers. He is excited at the
prospect of working in a new department, and not to mention to the added fringe benefits and
increased salary. Peter was a bit apprehensive, however, when the Head of Department, Mr
Carlisle, pointed out that for the next eight (8) months, he would have to share an office with
Matthew, the other Senior Operations Officer, until his new office space is ready. Peter had
looked at the existing office space, prior to assuming his new role, and thought that with the
abundance of space, he would have no problem with Matthew who seems to be a very nice and
helpful guy. The office has two desks, fully equipped with computers, printers and telephones.
There was also a communal worktable and a small refrigerator. Peter began his new role, but
after the first week of sharing an office with Matthew, he was just about climbing the wall.
Matthew insists on playing his music as he says it inspires his creativity. Matthew also eats his
very meaty lunch at his desk, albeit, very loudly and often leaves left-overs at the communal
worktable for the Office Attendant to clear away at the end of the work day. Peter is a vegetarian.
Matthew also speaks loudly on the phone and Peter is subjected to hearing his conversations.
Being new, Peter was not sure how to approach Matthew. He had tactfully asked Matthew, on
more than one occasion, to lower his music and phone conversations and to remove his dirty
lunch wares after eating. Matthew, however, seemed not to have taken him seriously, and
persists; showing no regard for Peter's requests. Consequently, Peter's work has fallen behind and
he must now resolve this matter once and for all. Peter has unwillingly brought the matter to Mr
Carlisle. Using good conflict resolution and negotiation skills and language, assist Mr Carlisle in
working through Peter and Matthew's issues, and arrive at a plausible and amicable resolution to
the problems that Peter is experiencing. (Total 25 marks).

Instructions Answer ALL questions from this section CASE STUDY Cynt.pdfameancal
Instructions: Answer ALL questions from this section: CASE STUDY Cynthia has just been
assigned to the Training Department as one of two (2) Senior Training Officers. They are
required to work together in supervising a team of 10 intern trainers. She is excited at the
prospect of working in a new department, and not to mention the added fringe benefits and
increased salary. Cynthia was disappointed, however, when the Head of Department, Dr. Brown,
indicated that she will have to share office with Marriott, the other Senior Operations Officer, as
there is a space constraint in the company at the moment. The office had two desks, fully
equipped with computers, printers and telephones. There was also a communal worktable and a
small refrigerator. Cynthia began her new role, but after the first week of sharing an office with
Marriott, she was beginning to feel uncomfortable. Marriott was very self-centred and often
insists on playing his music as he says it inspires his creativity. Marriott often delegate
responsibility to Cynthia and seldom listens to her ideas or thoughts. Marriott also speaks loudly
on the phone and Cynthia is often subjected to hearing his conversations. Being new, Cynthia
was not sure how to approach Marriott. She had tactfully asked Marriott, on several occasions, to
lower his music and phone conversations; however, he seemed not to have taken her seriously,
and persisted; showing no regard for Cynthia's requests. She had even written a number of
training proposals and sent it to Marriot who ignored her suggestions for improving their
systems. In working with the interns trainers, Marriott often dominated the discussions and
subtly belittled Cynthia ideas. He was often very friendly with the female interns who would sits
on his desk and make small talk during work hours; which made her very uncomfortable.
Additionally, the tasks and responsibilities of the department were being neglected. Cynthia tried
to identify the shortfall; however, Marriott thought she would worry unnecessarily.
Consequently, Cynthia's work had fallen behind and she must now resolve this matter once and
for all. Cynthia has unwillingly brought the matter to the attention of De. Brown. Using good
conflict resolution and negotiation skills and language, assist Dr. Brown in working through
Cynthia and Marriott's issues, and arrive at a plausible and amicable resolution to the problems
that Cynthia was experiencing, and to increase the productivity levels of the Training
Department. 17/08 The Council of Community Colleges of Jamaica Page 2 Questions A. Define

Carlisle. Using good conflict resolution and negotiation skills and language, assist Mr Carlisle in

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
