Mission
In 2004 and 2005, Warfarin was implicated in an annual average of 43,000 ER
visits for adverse drug events (ADE’s).

That’s second only to ADE’s involving insulin, and it doesn’t include Warfarin-
related ADE’s in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, offices, or homes.*1+

Problem
An INR test measures the clotting time of a patient’s blood. Warfarin, a blood
thinner used by over 2 million people in the US, requires several INR tests
each month.

Frequent testing is obligatory for Warfarin patients, because Warfarin
interacts with a variety of things:
– Food

– Prescription medicines
– Over-the-counter medicines
– Exercise
– Weather
– Menstruation
– And more…

Problem
Warfarin interactions can cause the drug to be more potent, which will
increase the clotting time, or less potent, which will decrease the clotting
time. Any change in the clotting time of blood that is outside the therapeutic
range will usually result in a drug dosage adjustment.

INR Tracker provides the necessary online tools for Warfarin patients to
monitor their at home activity and better manage Warfarin interactions.

Target Market
Warfarin is the most commonly prescribed anticoagulant medicine on the
market. [3]
Roughly 2 million people take Warfarin each year in the United States. It is
prescribed to patients who are at risk of developing blood clots. These
conditions include:
– Atrial fibrillation (a type of abnormal heart beat)

– Deep venous thrombosis
– Pulmonary embolism
– Heart valve replacement recipient [4]
