Welcome to Innovation Louisiana 2013, an entrepreneurship conference celebrating our region’s bioscience innovators.
I know the industry and commercialization experts who have joined us for this event will offer great insights as you
continue to grow your venture—or perhaps will inspire you to start one. Our mission here at the BioInnovation Center is
to grow and support the life sciences ecosystem in the region. We do this through our programming, relationships, and
state-of-the-art facility. Events like this are a critical part of our work, and we hope this conference helps to enhance the
spirit of entrepreneurship throughout the region.
The BioInnovation Center is a 66,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art wet-lab incubator for life science startups. We
opened our doors in June 2011 to harness the significant biomedical research taking place at the seven colleges and
universities in Greater New Orleans. Only a few years later, we have already seen the beginnings of a transformation
from an economy based heavily upon tourism, energy, and service industries to one that more fully leverages the strong
local knowledge base and research capacity in healthcare and biotechnology. Since our opening, the BioInnovation
Center has attracted 33 tenants and assisted hundreds of entrepreneurs and researchers. This has led to over 60
new startup companies, more than 135 new jobs, and over $20 million in venture, grant, and other funding to support
various technology startups. These emerging companies are working with technologies such as medical devices,
diagnostic tools, drugs, health information platforms, and clean technologies that hold great promise for addressing a
wide range of medical and environmental problems, from diabetes and cancer to water pollution and alternative fuels.
These technologies offer the potential to impact the quality of life of millions of people around the world.
I hope that you enjoy the events this week and will join us as we continue to grow the ecosystem of life science
entrepreneurship throughout the state of Louisiana. With your help, we are building a sustainable biotech industry in
Louisiana that produces competitive jobs and new businesses to strengthen the regional economy. Finally, I would like
to thank our Innovation Louisiana partners, as without their support, events like this and the strong momentum our life
sciences community has built would not be possible.

Advano is a nanotechnology company specializing in the manufacturing and processing of advanced materials
called nanoparticles. The patented manufacturing process is a facile and scalable platform technology that
consolidates four steps into one with potential applications ranging from bioimaging and labeling to advanced
lithium-ion batteries.
INNOGENOMICS TECHNOLOGIES
InnoGenomics Technologies is developing innovative new products and solutions for human DNA identification
testing. The company is currently commercializing novel systems designed for testing challenging and compromised
forensic DNA samples.
MINIVAX
MiniVax is developing a treatment for Pneumocystis pneumonia (PCP) based upon the work of Dr. Jay Kolls' lab at
LSU Health Sciences Center. PCP is a deadly fungal infection that affects immunocompromised patients such as
those suffering from HIV/AIDS, receiving organ transplants, and undergoing chemotherapy.

AMANDA AKIN, BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ANALYST
VC Experts
Amanda Akin is a Business Intelligence Analyst for VC Experts, which provides private company financing data and content. She has
a B.S. in Accounting from Louisiana Tech University and an MBA from Louisiana State University Shreveport. Amanda lived overseas
for 15 years and has traveled to 24 countries.
DR. EREZ ALLOUCHE, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR AND TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Louisiana Tech University Department of Civil Engineering and Trenchless Technology Center
Dr. Allouche is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at Louisiana Tech University, the Director of the Trenchless Technology
Center, and a licensed professional engineer. His work focuses on the development of new technologies and materials for underground
construction and condition assessment techniques. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the Ontario Premier Research
Excellence Award, University Research Award, the Engineering and Science Foundation's Award, the NASTT University Industry
Award, the University Innovator Recognition Award, the Louisiana Engineering Foundation Professional Award, Louisiana Technology
Council’s Technology Product of the Year Award, the International Society for Trenchless Technology Award and the Louisiana Tech
University Engineering Foundation’s Excellence Award. He is the inventor (or co-inventor) of 18 patents in the area of trenchless
technologies and geopolymer binders and the author of more than 250 publications in the areas of buried infrastructure management,
pipeline installation using trenchless techniques, and cementitious binders, including 62 peer-reviewed journal papers.
SAMUEL M. CAMP, FOUNDER AND BOARD CHAIRMAN
Pamlab
Sam Camp began his successful career in pharmaceuticals as a Medical Sales Representative with Rucker Pharmacal after
graduation from Tulane University. Sam then founded UAD Laboratories which later became Forest Laboratories. In 1987, he bought
Pamlab, moved the corporate office to Covington and began to grow it into the largest pharmaceutical company based in Covington,
Louisiana. Pamlab today has coverage in every U.S. state and Puerto Rico, as well as a manufacturing plant, Red River Pharma, in
Shreveport. Since selling Pamlab to Nestlé Health Science in 2012, Sam has continued to be innovative in the areas of biotechnology
and medical foods. Through his work with doctors over the years, Sam has developed a keen interest in supporting physicians in
their medical practice. Sam formed an organization called Physicians Proviso, to help health care providers achieve autonomy,
advocacy and profitability. Additionally, Sam is pioneering a series of new Diabetes Assessment and Management Centers (DiAMC).
Sam has been recognized as "Entrepreneur of the Year" and received "The Governor's Technology Award" for the State of Louisiana.
DR. MATTHEW CHATFIELD, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR AND COORDINATOR
Tulane-Xavier Center for Bioenvironmental Research
Dr. Chatfield received his B.A. in Biology from the University of Chicago and his Ph.D. in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology from the
University of Michigan. He has been with Tulane University four years, most recently as a Research Assistant Professor with the
Tulane-Xavier Center for Bioenvironmental Research. His research addresses many aspects of conservation, including the impacts
of climate change on declining species and population dynamics of freshwater and coastal marsh species. Dr. Chatfield is also the
Project Coordinator of the new Tulane Riverfront Campus, a facility dedicated to applied coastal science and engineering. Efforts in
this arena are focused on building capacity for the infrastructure and programs of the campus through public outreach, community
engagement and building partnerships.
DR. A. RAY CHAUDHURI		
Dr. Chaudhuri is a biotechnology entrepreneur and consultant with over a decade of experience in government and early stage
biotechnology companies. His previous experience includes working in the US government at the National Institute of Health as both
a research scientist and grant award manager, in venture capital as a healthcare specialist, and in various operational, management,
and fund raising roles at startup companies such as MiniVax, Actis Biologics, Humurine, and Biological Mimetics. He has a PhD in
Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Nevada, Reno and an MBA in Finance from George Washington University in D.C.
ALISA L. CHESTLER, OF COUNSEL

Alisa Chestler concentrates her practice in health care and insurance regulatory compliance; privacy, security and records
management issues; and corporate transactions matters. Ms. Chestler joined Baker Donelson after a distinguished career as in-
house counsel and privacy officer to several large public and private companies. Ms. Chestler routinely counsels clients on data
privacy and security matters that arise from federal and state laws. She assists clients in identifying, evaluating and managing risks
associated with privacy and information security practices of companies and third parties. She has significant experience assisting

companies in developing comprehensive privacy and security programs. Ms. Chestler assists clients with negotiating complex
information technology and partnership agreements, including health information exchange participation, EHR negotiation, adoption

computing issues and agreements. In addition, Ms. Chestler counsels employers, insurers and state regulators with the evolving

JOHN CHRISTIE, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Tulane University Office of Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Development
John Christie is the Executive Director of the Office of Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Development (OTT) at Tulane
University and is responsible for the overall management, supervision, and planning of activities within the office. The OTT’s activities
include development and implementation of programs to create a comprehensive inventory of Tulane's intellectual property;
identifying promising technological developments and encouraging their disclosure; protection of Tulane's intellectual property, either
directly or in cooperation with outside counsel; and commercializing intellectual property through an aggressive licensing program.
John is active in the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) and the Licensing Executives Society (LES), and
also participates in numerous initiatives in New Orleans and at the state level to promote the development and implementation of
technology transfer policies and practices. John has been affiliated with Tulane for fifteen years. He has a B.A. from the University of
Texas at Austin and was awarded the Master of Business Administration degree from Tulane.
ALAN JOHN DECORTE, FOUNDER

Alan DeCorte has served as a consultant to medical clinics and surgery centers, as well as hospital systems, and medical technology
vendors in the US and abroad during his 30+ year healthcare career which began as a healthcare services provider in the US Federal
healthcare system. Alan’s most recent international assignment was as with United Family Healthcare, a China-based, international
healthcare system, and he continues to advise China-bound US healthcare service and technology companies. Alan is a mentor
and advisor to startup entrepreneurs affiliated with Heath Nest Incubator, a China-based accelerator focusing on early stage mobile
& digital health startups. He received an MBA from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University and a BS in Medical
Technology from Loyola University. He is a co-founder of Medical Business Services, a Louisiana LLC.
WARNER JOSEPH DELAUNE, OF COUNSEL
Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC
Warner J. Delaune is a member of Baker Donelson’s Intellectual Property Group. Through representation of both large and small
companies, he has written and prosecuted numerous patent applications across a wide variety of technologies, including medical
devices, computer networking, wastewater treatment, recycling processes, electromechanical control systems, oil and gas extraction
and manufacturing equipment. Mr. Delaune also counsels clients in transactional matters involving intellectual property, including
license agreements, joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions. In addition, he handles intellectual property litigation matters in
both federal and state courts. He is a registered patent attorney licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in
patent cases. Mr. Delaune received his undergraduate degree from LSU in mechanical engineering, and he was employed with Texas
Instruments, Inc., in the Defense Systems and Electronics Group, where he designed infrared systems for use on military vehicles.

Asher J. Friend is a partner in the Corporate & Securities Practice Group at Jones Walker, as well as co-chair of the firm’s BioTechnology
& Life Sciences and member of its Private Equity & Venture Capital Practice. His practice is exclusively transactional, concentrating
principally on the areas of securities law, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and general corporate law. He represents clients
at each stage of the growth cycle; from emerging, start-up, privately owned companies to mature publicly-traded companies. Mr.
Friend frequently partners with several local and national organizations to speak on a variety of topics ranging from recently passed

RAHLYN GOSSEN, FOUNDER AND CO-FOUNDER

Rahlyn Gossen is the founder of Rebar Interactive, a digital marketing and patient engagement company serving the clinical trial
industry. She manages the development and implementation of digital strategies designed to engage and recruit clinical trial
participants, among other goals. Prior to her current role, Rahlyn was a clinical research coordinator. Rahlyn’s interests extend
beyond clinical trials and into broader health care technology and innovation. She is co-founder and co-chair of Health 2.0 New
Orleans. Her company, Rebar Interactive, was also recently selected as the 1st place winner of an ADHD app challenge sponsored
by Health 2.0 and Shire Pharmaceuticals. The award-winning mobile app, named Traxion, is designed to support adolescents with
ADHD during their transition to adulthood. Rahlyn regularly speaks and writes about clinical trial technology and innovation. She also

Mark is an attorney focusing on venture capital financing, angel financing and mergers and acquisition work for high growth
companies. Mark has experience representing companies and investors in Silicon Valley, Louisiana and New York. Mark handles a
large proportion of the venture financings in the State of Louisiana. Mark is a graduate of Tulane University School of Law, where
he was Order of the Coif and a Managing Editor of the Law Review. Prior to founding his firm, Mark practiced at the leading firm in

James Griffith is an active entrepreneur and business owner with over 30 years experience in multiple industries including consumer
electronics, transportation, healthcare, and real estate. Griffith is currently a partner or owner of the following companies: CARE
Inc., a state licensed provider of Direct Care Services for the elderly and disabled; Onsite Guardian, specializing in unique camera
solutions for tourism and security related systems for homeland security and industrial applications; Redpipe Wireless; and Tangi
River Kayak. Griffith is also an active consultant helping business owners in need of guidance from someone who has owned and
operated multiple success companies.	 	
JENNIFER HARTT, DIRECTOR OF INVESTMENTS, LIFE SCIENCES
Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania	
Jennifer Hartt directs all of Ben Franklin’s life sciences investments in companies with technologies ranging from medical devices and
diagnostics to therapeutics. Hartt has invested in over thirty companies for Ben Franklin since arriving in 2005. Hartt holds a Bachelor’s
degree, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, as well as a Master’s in Biology, both from the University of Pennsylvania.
She has prior experience in lab research, clinical settings, business consulting for small and large companies, technology evaluation,
licensing and equity management. Prior to joining Ben Franklin, Hartt was Associate Director of Business Development & Equity at
the University of Pennsylvania. Hartt is involved in regional activities in technology development education and commercialization
programs such as in being on a science curriculum audit committee, evaluating business plans, judging entrants in the Eastern
Technology Council Enterprise Awards, mentoring students and representing her organization on the oversight committee for Coulter
funding of translational research at Drexel University.
RANDY HUBBELL, VICE PRESIDENT, GLOBAL STRATEGIC MARKETING
Ethicon Biosurgery
Randy has been with Johnson & Johnson for 13 years in various sales and marketing roles, currently as VP of Global Strategic
Marketing at Ethicon Biosurgery. Before moving to Ethicon, Randy worked in the J&J pharmaceutical sector as the WWVP for Global
Strategic Marketing (PGSM) for the pain and cardiovascular therapeutic areas. Prior to J&J PGSM, Randy was Executive Director of
Strategic Alliances at Cordis Cardiology. Randy started at Cordis in 2001 as Director of Stent Marketing and had responsibility for
the launch of CYPHER in the US market in 2003. In 2000, Randy had responsibility for sales and marketing at Enmed, an Internet
start-up with web-based technology for conducting clinical trials. From 1998 to 2000, Randy was Executive Director of Sales and
Marketing for Vasca a start-up medical device company. Prior to Vasca, Randy was in sales and marketing for Boston Scientific
from 1993 to 1998 and prior to BSC; Randy was in sales for IBM from 1985 to 1993. Randy received his Masters in Business
Administration from Loyola University and his Bachelors of Science from Tulane University.
ROY KELLER, DIRECTOR
Louisiana Technology Transfer Office	
Roy Keller serves as the associate director of the Louisiana Business and Technology Center, a high-tech small business incubator
on the campus of Louisiana State University. He also serves as director of the Louisiana Technology Transfer Office (LTTO). The LTTO
operates throughout Louisiana and also has offices at NASA’s John C. Stennis Space Center and the NASA Michoud Assembly
Facility in New Orleans. Mr. Keller has been on the Board of Director’s of the International Technology Transfer Society for six years
and currently serves as vice president of finance. He is a board member of Partners for Stennis, a multi-state economic development
organization. He also serves on the Inventions and Innovations and the State and Local Government committees of the National
Federal Laboratory Consortium and was given the 2007 Outstanding Service Award by the Consortium. Mr. Keller also currently
serves as the director of the Louisiana SBIR FAST program and as the Technology Transfer director for the Louisiana NASA and NSF
Epscor programs.
DR. RICHARD KORDAL, DIRECTOR
Louisiana Tech University Office of Intellectual Property and Commercialization	
Richard Kordal, Ph.D., RTTP, Director, Office of Intellectual Property and Commercialization, Louisiana Tech University, earned a

doctoral degree in Chemistry (biochemistry emphasis) from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He has 18 years experience
in the in vitro diagnostics industry with Dade/Baxter, Boehringer Mannheim, Instrumentation Laboratory and Bionostics in various
technical, supervisory and managerial positions including industrial technology assessment. He helped co-found an Indianapolis-
based medical device firm, Uridynamics, and was able to help raise its first and second rounds of private seed capital. During his
employment in industry he has taken more than 10 products through R&D into the market. He has authored or edited numerous
scientific articles for professional and technical journals, organized and presided over several symposia, and given numerous
presentations at major scientific and professional meetings. He assumed the position of Director, OIPC, Louisiana Tech University in
June 2005. Prior to coming to Louisiana Tech University he was Director, Intellectual Property Office and University Patent Officer,
University of Cincinnati from 2001 to 2005 and Director, Biomedical Technology Transfer for Indiana University from 1997 to 2001.
COLBY LEMAIRE, DIRECTOR OF CLIENT DEVELOPMENT
Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum	
Colby LeMaire is responsible for outreach, business development and sales of the Louisiana Health Information Exchange (LaHIE)
to the health care community in Louisiana. In this role, he works to increase awareness and enthusiasm for LaHIE by explaining the
benefits of participation as a data provider and/or user to health care providers and payers as well as to ensure continued customer
service relationships with the data providers/users. Previously, LeMaire served as Director of Physician Services for HCA, supporting
physician alignment and adoption of electronic health records within eight hospitals in Louisiana and Mississippi. He also worked as
Physician Support Coordinator for two HCA facilities in Lafayette. Prior to his HCA employment, LeMaire provided software training
and clinical support to clients with Spectra Lab. He also has experience as a registered dietitian with the Renal Care Group. LeMaire
holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from DeVry Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree
in Nutrition and Dietetics from McNeese State University.
JOSEPH F. LOVETT, MANAGING GENERAL PARTNER
Louisiana Fund 	
Mr. Lovett has over 34 years of venture capital and operations experience in the healthcare areas of biotechnology, medical devices
and equipment, diagnostics, imaging and services. Operations experience included increasingly responsible positions in marketing
and general management at CR Bard, Mallinckrodt and Damon Biotech. Venture capital experience includes three venture capital
funds (1988-2003) as general partner in affiliation with Harvard University managing $70,000,000 which resulted in 13 IPOs, 6 sales
of private companies, 3 private companies. Mr. Lovett has a BA in economics from the University of Vermont and an MBA from
California State Polytechnic University (Pomona).
JONATHAN MILLER, VICE PRESIDENT
Silicon Valley Bank
Jonathan has been working with technology companies and entrepreneurs since joining Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) in 2006. For the
past 3 years, he has represented SVB’s Accelerator platform, providing banking and financing services to early stage technology and
innovation companies. Prior to moving to Austin in 2005, Jonathan lived in New York City, and gained experience in residential real
estate and consumer products. Jonathan holds a B.S. in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University.
AARON MISCENICH, PRESIDENT
New Orleans Bioinnovation Center
Aaron Miscenich has a work history tied to entrepreneurship and growth-oriented companies in Greater New Orleans. Working
for nine years in the capital industry, Miscenich handled equity investing, alternative finance/mezzanine lending, and senior debt.
Currently Miscenich is the President of the New Orleans BioInnovation Center, a $47 million business incubator that is focused on
developing New Orleans-based bioscience entrepreneurship. Miscenich also serves as Executive Director of the Louisiana Cancer
Research Consortium, a New Orleans-based research collaborative bringing together minds from LSUHSC, Tulane University, Xavier
University, and Ochsner Health System. With the mission of establishing an NCI-designated institution, the LCRC recently opened
a state-of-the-art, 170,000-square foot facility. Miscenich holds a B.S. in Physics from the University of New Mexico and an M.B.A.
from Tulane University.
NIC PERKIN, CO-FOUNDER, CO-CHAIRMAN AND CO-CEO		
Spear Point Buyout Group
Nicolas R. Perkin is the Co-Founder, Co-Chairman and Co-CEO of Spear Point Buyout Group. Formerly, he was the Co-Founder and
President of The Receivables Exchange, the first and largest electronic marketplace for the trading of commercial receivables. Prior to
founding The Receivables Exchange, Mr. Perkin was part of the leadership team that built and ultimately sold Massive Incorporated
to Microsoft Corporation in May 2006. Earlier in his career Mr. Perkin worked in investment banking and mergers and acquisitions for
Veronis Suhler & Associates, the premier media M&A advisory practice. He has worked in various positions in financial technology,
specifically in technology for order management and risk management for fixed income, as well as for numerous media companies,
specifically around the acquisition and assimilation of operating assets. Mr. Perkin holds an M.S. in Finance from the London

Business School and a B.A. from Tulane University. He serves as the appointed Vice Chairman of the Louisiana Innovation Council
and serves on the Board of the Louisiana Buyout Fund, The Louisiana Technology Council, The Pennington Biomedical Research
Center and as a member The New Orleans Business Alliance Leadership Council.
DR. PETER RAGUSA, CEO

Peter Ragusa, MD, MPH is the CEO and Co-Founder of VoiceHIT, maker of the Better Day™ Health software platform. Dr. Ragusa
is a graduate of Louisiana State University, the University of Minnesota Medical School & the Yale University School of Public Health.
He has been featured in numerous high-profile publications, like the New York Times, Forbes, & National Public Radio. With over 10
years of healthcare experience, Dr. Ragusa has spoken at various local, state & national events on regulatory reform in healthcare,
medical education, physician licensing, start-up companies & emerging trends in health IT.
PATRICK E. REED, DIRECTOR
Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Office of Technology Management
Patrick Reed began his university technology transfer career at the LSU AgCenter in Baton Rouge. Five years later, he moved to
Atlanta and became the Senior Licensing Associate at Georgia Tech Research Corporation’s tech transfer office- responsible for
licensing activities and the roll-out of a program and express license for faculty startups. In 2012, Patrick returned to Louisiana to
become the new Director of the LSU Health Sciences Center’s Office of Technology Management. Patrick has over 13 years of
experience in university technology transfer and a master’s degree in biotechnology from the Kellogg Center for Biotechnology at
Northwestern University.
DAVID C. RIEVESCHL, SHAREHOLDER	
Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC	
David C. Rieveschl concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and securities law. His practice
includes structuring public and private sales of equity and debt instruments and advising clients on compliance with federal and state
securities laws. In addition, Mr. Rieveschl regularly counsels established and emerging enterprises on issues affecting legal structure,
intellectual property rights and venture capital financing, with particular focus on the life sciences, technology and energy industries.
Mr. Rieveschl also represents publicly traded and privately held clients (as buyers and sellers) in complex merger, stock and asset
purchase transactions.
CHRIS SCHULTZ, CO-FOUNDER AND FOUNDER
Launch Pad and Voodoo Ventures	
Chris Schultz is a tech entrepreneur who has launched several Internet companies. Currently, Chris is launching Niko Niko, a
happiness tracker for teams that turns mood into actionable data for managers. He makes angel investments through Voodoo
Venture. Chris is the co-founder of Flatstack, a software development firm in Kazan, Russia. He is also co-founder of Launch Pad,
a collaborative workspace in downtown New Orleans. Out of that grew Launch Pad Ignition, the first seed accelerator on the gulf
coast and Launch Fest, a New Orleans demo day. Prior to Voodoo Ventures, Chris founded Destination VIP, a Las Vegas-based
internet travel company that was acquired by VegasHotSpots. He received his MBA from the University of Southern California and
his B.S. from the University of Virginia.
DR. SUDHIR SINHA, PRESIDENT & CEO
InnoGenomics Technologies
Dr. Sinha is currently CEO and President of InnoGenomics Technologies. He is also an adjunct Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular
Biology at Tulane University’s School of Medicine and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Criminology at the University of South
Florida. As a successful entrepreneur, Dr. Sinha established and served as President and Lab Director of ReliaGene Technologies, an
accredited DNA testing lab in New Orleans. With over 36 years experience in chemical and biochemical research and management,
Dr. Sinha is well-recognized in the international scientific community, authoring numerous research papers, holding various patents,
and having presented his work at many international conferences. He has chaired workshops and scientific sessions at the American
Academy of Forensic Sciences and the American Association of Blood Banks annual meetings. Dr. Sinha is a court-qualified expert
in molecular biology and DNA analysis, having testified in 24 jurisdictions throughout the U.S. His academic background includes a
Ph.D. in Chemistry and post-doctorate training at the University of Miami Medical Center.
ANDREA WESSER, PROGRAM MANAGER
University of Central Florida Office of Research and Commercialization, MegaWatt Ventures and Florida Cleantech Acceleration
Network
Ms. Wesser’s chief responsibilities have been involved in technology economic development for the Southeastern US. She has
assisted hundreds of entrepreneurs and university researchers over nearly ten years in starting technology companies, pursuing
federal funding for R&D, and generating revenue. She has represented the University of Central Florida at international conferences

regarding regional economic development and technology commercialization. Her observations in cleantech and nanotechnology
commercialization have been presented in front of the US Senate, and she has co-authored over $500M in proposals to appoint
nationally recognized research centers and partner universities, government and private sector entities. She currently manages
US Department of Energy and Department of Labor sponsored programs, MegaWatt Ventures and Florida Cleantech Acceleration
Network, which assist energy and environment companies throughout the Southeastern US. Ms. Wesser also worked for several
microtechnology focused start-ups, most notably a National Labs’ spin-out for state of the art batteries, Planar Energy Devices.
CLAYTON WHITE, DIRECTOR
South Coast Angel Fund
Clayton White has over 25 years experience working with start-up and early-stage companies. His background includes organizational
structure, mergers and acquisitions, financial management and controls, capital structure, and corporate governance. He has taken
companies through the venture capital process and is currently involved in company valuations, due diligence, planning, capitalization,
and exit strategies. Mr. White is a member and organizer of the South Coast Angel Fund. The South Coast Angel Fund is a member-
managed angel capital fund designed to utilize the capital, resources, and expertise of its members to profit from its investments in
entrepreneurial, early-stage companies in Louisiana. Mr. White has a B.S. in Physics, an MBA, and a Juris Doctor. He is a member
of the Louisiana and Alabama Bar. He sits on the boards of several companies, non-profits, and community organizations.
DR. CLINT WILLSON, DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING DESIGN AND INNOVATION
The Water Institute of the Gulf	
Clint received his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State University in 1985. After serving 6 years in the US Marine Corps, he
attended the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a MS in Environmental Engineering and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering. He
then worked as a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at the University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill for two years before taking a faculty position at LSU. Clint has been a member of the LSU Department
of Civil and Environmental Engineering faculty for 15 years working primarily in the area of environmental and water resources
engineering. In January 2013, he began a 50% appointment as the Director of Engineering Design and Innovation at the Water
Institute of the Gulf.

I know the industry and commercialization experts who have joined us for this event will offer great insights as you continue to grow your venture—or perhaps will inspire you to start one. Our mission here at the BioInnovation Center is to grow and support the life sciences ecosystem in the region. We do this through our programming, relationships, and state-of-the-art facility. Events like this are a critical part of our work, and we hope this conference helps to enhance the spirit of entrepreneurship throughout the region. The BioInnovation Center is a 66,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art wet-lab incubator for life science startups. We opened our doors in June 2011 to harness the significant biomedical research taking place at the seven colleges and universities in Greater New Orleans. Only a few years later, we have already seen the beginnings of a transformation from an economy based heavily upon tourism, energy, and service industries to one that more fully leverages the strong local knowledge base and research capacity in healthcare and biotechnology. Since our opening, the BioInnovation Center has attracted 33 tenants and assisted hundreds of entrepreneurs and researchers. This has led to over 60 new startup companies, more than 135 new jobs, and over $20 million in venture, grant, and other funding to support various technology startups. These emerging companies are working with technologies such as medical devices, diagnostic tools, drugs, health information platforms, and clean technologies that hold great promise for addressing a wide range of medical and environmental problems, from diabetes and cancer to water pollution and alternative fuels. These technologies offer the potential to impact the quality of life of millions of people around the world. I hope that you enjoy the events this week and will join us as we continue to grow the ecosystem of life science entrepreneurship throughout the state of Louisiana. With your help, we are building a sustainable biotech industry in Louisiana that produces competitive jobs and new businesses to strengthen the regional economy. SAMUEL M. CAMP, FOUNDER AND BOARD CHAIRMAN Pamlab Sam Camp began his successful career in pharmaceuticals as a Medical Sales Representative with Rucker Pharmacal after graduation from Tulane University. Sam then founded UAD Laboratories which later became Forest Laboratories. In 1987, he bought Pamlab, moved the corporate office to Covington and began to grow it into the largest pharmaceutical company based in Covington, Louisiana. Pamlab today has coverage in every U.S. state and Puerto Rico, as well as a manufacturing plant, Red River Pharma, in Shreveport. MATTHEW CHATFIELD, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR AND COORDINATOR Tulane-Xavier Center for Bioenvironmental Research Dr. Chatfield received his B.A. in Biology from the University of Chicago and his Ph.D. in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology from the University of Michigan. He has been with Tulane University four years, most recently as a Research Assistant Professor with the Tulane-Xavier Center for Bioenvironmental Research. His research addresses many aspects of conservation, including the impacts of climate change on declining species and population dynamics of freshwater and coastal marsh species. From 1998 to 2000, Randy was Executive Director of Sales and Marketing for Vasca a start-up medical device company. Prior to Vasca, Randy was in sales and marketing for Boston Scientific from 1993 to 1998 and prior to BSC; Randy was in sales for IBM from 1985 to 1993. Randy received his Masters in Business Administration from Loyola University and his Bachelors of Science from Tulane University. ROY KELLER, DIRECTOR Louisiana Technology Transfer Office Roy Keller serves as the associate director of the Louisiana Business and Technology Center, a high-tech small business incubator on the campus of Louisiana State University. He also serves as director of the Louisiana Technology Transfer Office (LTTO). The LTTO operates throughout Louisiana and also has offices at NASA’s John C. Stennis Space Center and the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans. Mr. Keller has been on the Board of Director’s of the International Technology Transfer Society for six years and currently serves as vice president of finance. He is a board member of Partners for Stennis, a multi-state economic development organization. He also serves on the Inventions and Innovations and the State and Local Government committees of the National Federal Laboratory Consortium and was given the 2007 Outstanding Service Award by the Consortium. Mr. Keller also currently serves as the director of the Louisiana SBIR FAST program and as the Technology Transfer director for the Louisiana NASA and NSF Epscor programs. DR. RICHARD KORDAL, DIRECTOR Louisiana Tech University Office of Intellectual Property and Commercialization Richard Kordal, Ph.D., RTTP, Director, Office of Intellectual Property and Commercialization, Louisiana Tech University, earned a PAGE 12

He has 18 years experience in the in vitro diagnostics industry with Dade/Baxter, Boehringer Mannheim, Instrumentation Laboratory and Bionostics in various technical, supervisory and managerial positions including industrial technology assessment. He helped co-found an Indianapolis- based medical device firm, Uridynamics, and was able to help raise its first and second rounds of private seed capital. COLBY LEMAIRE, DIRECTOR OF CLIENT DEVELOPMENT Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum Colby LeMaire is responsible for outreach, business development and sales of the Louisiana Health Information Exchange (LaHIE) to the health care community in Louisiana. In this role, he works to increase awareness and enthusiasm for LaHIE by explaining the benefits of participation as a data provider and/or user to health care providers and payers as well as to ensure continued customer service relationships with the data providers/users. Previously, LeMaire served as Director of Physician Services for HCA, supporting physician alignment and adoption of electronic health records within eight hospitals in Louisiana and Mississippi. He also worked as Physician Support Coordinator for two HCA facilities in Lafayette. Prior to his HCA employment, LeMaire provided software training and clinical support to clients with Spectra Lab. He also has experience as a registered dietitian with the Renal Care Group. LeMaire holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from DeVry Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from McNeese State University. PATRICK E. REED, DIRECTOR Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Office of Technology Management Patrick Reed began his university technology transfer career at the LSU AgCenter in Baton Rouge. Five years later, he moved to Atlanta and became the Senior Licensing Associate at Georgia Tech Research Corporation’s tech transfer office- responsible for licensing activities and the roll-out of a program and express license for faculty startups. In 2012, Patrick returned to Louisiana to become the new Director of the LSU Health Sciences Center’s Office of Technology Management. Patrick has over 13 years of experience in university technology transfer and a master’s degree in biotechnology from the Kellogg Center for Biotechnology at Northwestern University. DAVID C. RIEVESCHL, SHAREHOLDER Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC David C. Rieveschl concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and securities law. His practice includes structuring public and private sales of equity and debt instruments and advising clients on compliance with federal and state securities laws. In addition, Mr. Rieveschl regularly counsels established and emerging enterprises on issues affecting legal structure, intellectual property rights and venture capital financing, with particular focus on the life sciences, technology and energy industries. CHRIS SCHULTZ, CO-FOUNDER AND FOUNDER Launch Pad and Voodoo Ventures Chris Schultz is a tech entrepreneur who has launched several Internet companies. Currently, Chris is launching Niko Niko, a happiness tracker for teams that turns mood into actionable data for managers. He makes angel investments through Voodoo Venture. Chris is the co-founder of Flatstack, a software development firm in Kazan, Russia. He is also co-founder of Launch Pad, a collaborative workspace in downtown New Orleans. Out of that grew Launch Pad Ignition, the first seed accelerator on the gulf coast and Launch Fest, a New Orleans demo day. Prior to Voodoo Ventures, Chris founded Destination VIP, a Las Vegas-based internet travel company that was acquired by VegasHotSpots. He received his MBA from the University of Southern California and his B.S. from the University of Virginia. DR. SUDHIR SINHA, PRESIDENT & CEO InnoGenomics Technologies Dr. Sinha is currently CEO and President of InnoGenomics Technologies. He is also an adjunct Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Tulane University’s School of Medicine and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Criminology at the University of South Florida. As a successful entrepreneur, Dr. Sinha established and served as President and Lab Director of ReliaGene Technologies, an accredited DNA testing lab in New Orleans. With over 36 years experience in chemical and biochemical research and management, Dr. Sinha is well-recognized in the international scientific community, authoring numerous research papers, holding various patents, and having presented his work at many international conferences. He has chaired workshops and scientific sessions at the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and the American Association of Blood Banks annual meetings. Dr. Sinha is a court-qualified expert in molecular biology and DNA analysis, having testified in 24 jurisdictions throughout the U.S. His academic background includes a Ph.D. in Chemistry and post-doctorate training at the University of Miami Medical Center. ANDREA WESSER, PROGRAM MANAGER University of Central Florida Office of Research and Commercialization, MegaWatt Ventures and Florida Cleantech Acceleration Network Ms. Wesser’s chief responsibilities have been involved in technology economic development for the Southeastern US. She has assisted hundreds of entrepreneurs and university researchers over nearly ten years in starting technology companies, pursuing federal funding for R&D, and generating revenue. She has represented the University of Central Florida at international conferences PAGE 14

Her observations in cleantech and nanotechnology commercialization have been presented in front of the US Senate, and she has co-authored over $500M in proposals to appoint nationally recognized research centers and partner universities, government and private sector entities. She currently manages US Department of Energy and Department of Labor sponsored programs, MegaWatt Ventures and Florida Cleantech Acceleration Network, which assist energy and environment companies throughout the Southeastern US. Ms. Wesser also worked for several microtechnology focused start-ups, most notably a National Labs’ spin-out for state of the art batteries, Planar Energy Devices. CLAYTON WHITE, DIRECTOR South Coast Angel Fund Clayton White has over 25 years experience working with start-up and early-stage companies. His background includes organizational structure, mergers and acquisitions, financial management and controls, capital structure, and corporate governance. He has taken companies through the venture capital process and is currently involved in company valuations, due diligence, planning, capitalization, and exit strategies. Mr. White is a member and organizer of the South Coast Angel Fund. The South Coast Angel Fund is a member- managed angel capital fund designed to utilize the capital, resources, and expertise of its members to profit from its investments in entrepreneurial, early-stage companies in Louisiana. Mr. White has a B.S. in Physics, an MBA, and a Juris Doctor. He is a member of the Louisiana and Alabama Bar. He sits on the boards of several companies, non-profits, and community organizations. DR. CLINT WILLSON, DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING DESIGN AND INNOVATION The Water Institute of the Gulf Clint received his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State University in 1985. After serving 6 years in the US Marine Corps, he attended the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a MS in Environmental Engineering and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering. He then worked as a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for two years before taking a faculty position at LSU. Clint has been a member of the LSU Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering faculty for 15 years working primarily in the area of environmental and water resources engineering.
