The document discusses the key elements that make an international blockbuster film. It suggests that blockbusters are made with wide global appeal by avoiding anything too culturally specific, using stereotypes to make characters easily understandable, and featuring a story about saving the world from disaster. Additionally, blockbusters employ big-budget production values like CGI effects, focus on a universal love story element, and aim to be visually engaging with less emphasis on dialogue. Good artists copy, great artists steal - A brand's uniqueness vs relevant dif...How Cool Brands Stay Hot
Since the 1960s marketers have been aspiring to differentiate their brands from competitors. But as a perverse effect they've turned out to be just like everyone else. Consumers today are more sceptical of new products than ever. More than 6 out of 10 think they are not really different. How can brands stay meaningful for their not so easily wowed target groups?

Tired of hearing "Millennials have been decoded, debunked, everything you need to hear" then "everything you've heard is wrong"... This isn't that at all. See why we think this generation deserves more than a few statistics and bold claims to tell their story. There’s a lot contradictory info on this generation, but that’s because they’re full of contradictions themselves.
I am interested in developing executive training or professional development workshops that function as 'surprise' and 'mystery' tours and collective performance art.
I have brought a squash to the class last Friday (as a form of improvisation and surprise).
In particular, students like puzzles (the student who gets the answer first gets a dark chocolate).
If you view it as a slideshow and try to guess the answers to the puzzles, then the experience might be quite fun:)
You can find the description of this class below.
In this class that is designed as a collective performance art, we review some of the biggest names in the landscape of entertainment, creativity, and business. From space to magic, from basketball to fashion, from animation to computer games, from film music to architecture we have a trans-disciplinary tour of storytelling and creative careers. We have a series of exercises in asset creation and imagination. We have a lot of puzzles. We dream about the university of the future. However, the main actor in all of this experience (the connecting thread/anchor) is a squash.
This document discusses ethics awareness and human nature. It notes that while humans are not naturally ethical, awareness can change behavior. It provides examples of unethical lapses in business and examines why it can be easier not to act ethically. Some key reasons discussed include it being more convenient, profitable, or to conform to social norms. However, ethics are important for leadership and building trust. The document also notes that people tend to rationalize their own behavior more than others' and provides guidelines for ethical decision making.
The document discusses the importance of professional image and managing one's personal brand. It notes that 87% of job losses are due to improper work habits and attitudes rather than lack of skills. It emphasizes that people judge others based on appearance and that image is reality. It advises focusing on building a strong, positive brand and managing one's reputation through hard work, consistency, and paying attention to communication styles, dress, and behavior.

The presentation discusses how human nature is not naturally ethical, examines common rationalizations for unethical behavior, and provides a guideline for ethical decision making. Case problems are also presented to illustrate ethical dilemmas.
This document provides strategies and tactics for negotiation skills. It discusses making connections with others by showing respect. High aspirations are important for negotiation - aiming high in initial offers correlates with better outcomes regardless of skill. "No" can be a powerful negotiation tool when used respectfully. Analyzing one's bargaining power and focusing on expanding opportunities rather than dividing a fixed pie are keys to achieving win-win agreements. Listening well to understand interests and find joint gains is emphasized.
The document discusses various ideas and strategies related to influence and persuasion. It emphasizes that likability and overcoming communication blockers are key to influencing others. Additionally, it stresses looking for win-win opportunities, avoiding conflicts, and controlling information. The document provides tips for becoming a more persuasive messenger, such as dressing professionally and finding similarities with others. It also outlines a five-factor planning strategy for influencing outcomes.
Andrew L. Urich is a professor who provides corporate training and convention speaking on topics related to leadership, influence, negotiation, critical thinking, ethics, and relationships. He has extensive experience speaking to business professionals and tailoring his presentations to meet organizational goals. Urich focuses on providing practical strategies and insights through an engaging delivery that incorporates humor.
The document discusses the concern that companies invest resources in training employees who may later leave the company. It suggests an alternative view that companies should still train employees even if they risk the employees staying, as failing to train them could result in underperforming or unhappy employees who remain with the company. The document is advocating for the benefits of training employees regardless of whether they stay or go.
This document provides information about Andrew L. Urich who gives corporate training and convention speeches on topics related to influence, ethics, and leadership. The first section discusses a speech on how influence differentiates managers from leaders by connecting with others, finding win-win opportunities, acquiring persuasive attributes, and avoiding conflicts. The second section describes a speech on ethics awareness and the importance of protecting an organization's reputation. It discusses how to identify unethical behavior and consider ethical conundrums. The document concludes with additional topics Urich covers and his contact information.
This document provides an overview of ethics awareness presented by Andrew L. Urich. It discusses how human nature is not inherently ethical and it is difficult to be ethical at all times. Key points include that ethics exists in gray areas, not just black and white. The document also lists examples of ethical lapses in corporations to show how unethical decisions can negatively impact organizations. Guidelines for ethical decision making are presented.
The document discusses various ideas and strategies related to influence and persuasion. Some of the key points covered include:
1. The importance of overcoming communication blockers and getting people to listen before trying to influence them.
2. Looking for win-win opportunities by understanding other people's interests and making the pie bigger for both sides.
3. Factors that make a persuasive messenger like being likable, well-dressed, and avoiding conflicts.
4. The importance of planning influence strategies in advance by considering other people's perspectives.
This document provides an overview of ethics awareness presented by Andrew L. Urich. This document provides strategies and tactics for negotiation skills. It discusses making connections with others by showing respect. High aspirations are important to success in negotiation. One should focus on expanding the available resources rather than arguing over a fixed amount. Saying "no" can give one power if done positively. Understanding one's bargaining power comes from not underestimating strengths and managing perceptions.
This document contains a client list. It does not provide any details about the clients, such as their names, contact information, services received, or account details. The sole purpose of the document is to indicate that a client list exists, without disclosing any private client data.

Examples are provided of how GM struggled by not focusing on customer needs and ignoring signs of changing markets. The document emphasizes removing boundaries in thinking and avoiding bureaucracy that can stifle innovation. Applications of critical thinking principles are discussed for both individuals and organizations.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
