Converting Energy Efficiency into Higher Appraisals

Philip Beere will present two cases where improvements increased value through green renovations and certifications. Don Saba will discuss three cases where over-improvements decreased value. Jay Josephs will provide an appraisal perspective on a case comparing a "lipstick" renovation to a comprehensive rehab. The webinar objectives are to review case studies of successful and unsuccessful improvements, and to discuss design strategies of the G Home model of green renovations.
Accessibility Building Codes: ADA

IECC 2009 Training

Green Home 101
The most successful green projects are those that share the successful design strategies implemented, and are embraced by the community as an instrument for education and a source of inspiration for other building professionals.
This is the case for Gordon Estates; the most highly rated and certified green subdivision in the U.S., and recently the site of the G Street education series ‘Green Home 101’. Kudos to the teams at the City of Phoenix and Mandalay Communities for completing this first of its kind project and sharing a successful roadmap for others to follow.
About G Street education: G Street was contracted by the Municipality and the Builder to create and present CEU approved curriculum that shared the project’s sustainable design strategies, and to increase local and national awareness. When sustainable design is done right it includes education, allowing the project to reach its climax.
