What are Inhalants?
• Inhalants are to put quiet simply are vapors
from toxic substances that slow down the
body’s functions.
• Inhalants can come in many things such as
household cleaning products and paint
thinner.
Short Term Effects
• Inhalants can cause slurred speech,
drunk, dizzy or dazed appearance,
inability to coordinate movement,
hallucinations and delusions, hostility,
apathy, impaired judgment,
unconsciousness, severe headaches,
rashes around the mouth and nose.
Long Term Effects
• Long term use of inhalants include; muscle
weakness, disorientation, lack of coordination,
irritability, depression, serious damage to the
heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, and brain, hearing
loss, impaired memory, diminished
intelligence, and bone marrow damage.
Effects On The Body and Mind
• Inhalants if used for long periods of time can
make a person stupider it can also damage the
persons internal organs.
• Inhalants cause damage to internal organs due to
the toxic chemicals inhaled.
• The chemicals damage the body and mind
seriously.
• Heart failure and death can occur within minutes
after several repeated inhalations this is called
sudden sniffing death.
