Editor's Notes

  • #2 The project is a 14.82 km. 6-lane elevated toll road and the last of three (3) stages of Metro Manila Skyway (MMS) System. It is intended to connect South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) at Alabang to Balintawak in Quezon City before North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) through Central Metro Manila Area by using predominantly median of Quirino, G. Araneta and A. Bonifacio road networks. The project road shall consist of the following Phases and Sections: Phase 1: Section 1 – Buendia to Nagtahan Section 2 – Nagtahan to Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard Phase 2: Section 3 – Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard to Quezon Avenue Section 4 – Quezon Avenue to Balintawak Among the key benefits of the project is the improvement of accessibility, mobility, and connectivity in and out of the metropolis via eight (8) strategically located interchanges: these being at Buendia, Pres. Quirino Avenue, Plaza Dilao and Nagtahan, Aurora Boulevard, E. Rodriguez Avenue, Quezon Avenue, Sgt. Rivera and Balintawak with a total of 14 Toll Plazas. The project will enhance the economic interaction of CALABARZON, Mega Manila, and central Luzon that contribute to over 60% of the country’s GDP. It will also provide an alternate route to decongest EDSA and the major thoroughfares around its vicinity. The project is a component of the Supplemental Toll Operation Agreement (STOA) entered into by and among the Republic of the Philippines, through Toll Regulatory Board (TRB), CITRA, and the Philippine National Construction Corporation (PNCC) in relation to the Business and Joint Venture Agreement covering the project.
  • #3 LRT 6 The project involves the financing, design, construction, operations and maintenance, including procurement of the rolling stocks and systems, of a new 19-kilometer light rail line along Aguinaldo Highway from Niyog, Bacoor (the terminus of the LRT Line 1 Cavite Extension Project) to Dasmariñas City in Cavite. LRT Line 6, as an extended rail system from the existing LRT Line 1, will provide a cost-effective and efficient mode of transport for people travelling within Cavite and to/from Metro Manila. The project will also provide an incentive to the public to relocate to the suburbs of Metro Manila (specifically Cavite Province), thus lessening the burden on Metro Manila infrastructure.
