2. Information Management is the process of curating data in a database and having
it organized in a manner that is readily accessible and useful whenever required.
Information Management is normally useful in large organizations that are
dependent on accurate and reliable data in order to support decision making and
drive the organization forward.
3. Database Management System – – A Database Management System (DBMS) is an
application system that is used to interact with the content stored in databases.
The Database Management System allows for the manipulation of the database
content via the applications
Database – A database is any collection of similar/related tables referring to a
particular topic.
Files/Tables – Files (Database files) or tables is a collection of records related to a
particular topic in a database.
Record/Row – A record is read in a database by reading the entire row of data. The
Record is the combination of all the fields/attributes associated with the specified
table/file.
Field/Attribute - A field in a database is an instance in a record that refers to a
part of the data that completes a record.
