Industrial development is driving economic prosperity in the Winter Haven-Lakeland area, where there is a strong 0.99 correlation between growth in industrial inventory and wages. Over 2.5 million square feet of new industrial space is slated for development in the next two years, which should support continued wage growth. The area has seen significant economic expansion over the last 20 years, with total GDP growing 37.7%, population up 50.2%, and industrial sector jobs increasing 18%. Amazon's new $100 million air cargo facility alone will create 800-1000 jobs starting in July 2020.

Minneapolis-St. Paul’s unemployment rose to 3.9 percent, according to the most recent estimates available from the BLS. Although still 100 basis points lower than the national rate, this month is the first time since July 2015 that the metro unemployment rate is higher than the state of Minnesota’s.
Industrial sectors were responsible for 26.7 percent of the 12-month total employment growth, outperforming office-using sectors which saw 19.6 percent of total growth. Trade, transportation, and utilities added 3,200 jobs year-over-year and drove the bulk of industrial growth throughout 2015.
Although national year-to-date figures are down compared to 2015, January saw significant upward revisions to 172,000 jobs, improving the year’s initial performance. Despite global tensions and economic shifts, the U.S. economy seems to be holding its own, although certain sectors such as energy and trade could be impacted by fluctuations in domestic and international demand.

After years of gradual loss and some small rebounds in the early 2000s, manufacturing employment sat just above 200,000 jobs throughout 2007-2008, a number that will likely be achieved in the next year or two as Minneapolis-St. Paul’s labor pool and economy steadily grow. YTD, an average of 500 manufacturing jobs are added every month.

The creative industries in the UK include advertising, architecture, arts, crafts, design, fashion, games, music, publishing, TV and film. They employ over 3 million people, concentrated in London and southern UK, generating over £101.5 billion annually in 2017. The creative industries have grown faster than other industries between 2010-2017, with their Gross Value Added increasing 53.1% compared to 29.7% for other industries.

Net absorption of office space has also increased, with over 600,000 square feet absorbed so far in 2015 alone. While absorption is up, over half of leasing transactions for spaces over 10,000 square feet have been renewals due to a lack of large blocks of Class A office space. The tight market conditions are expected to lead to new multi-tenant office development in the near future.

The July 2018 jobs report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that 157,000 jobs were created in July, below economists' expectations of 190,000. This paper surveys (1) the changes on the Chinese manufacturing sector brought by the economic reform in China in 1978, (2) the impacts of factors of production on the gross domestic product of the industry sector by estimating a Cobb-Douglas production function, (3) the effects of deregulation on total factor productivity levels, and (4) future economic output of the sector by forecasting capital stock and labor growth levels. The results show that, following China’s economic reform and restructuring of the economy, capital has played a more significant role in the production process and the factor intensity of labor has gradually diminished, while productivity has drastically spiked with TFP being 0.002 in 1978 to 0.013 by 2018. Our model, after forecasting investment flows and labor workforce participation, projects that by 2030, the expected GDP value added in the ten year period by the manufacturing sector will stagnate within past levels and fall between 4.59 to 7.84 trillion yuan.
