Swami Dayanand Saraswati was a Hindu reformer born in 1824 in Gujarat, India. He founded the Arya Samaj movement in 1875, which aimed to remove superstitions and idolatry from Hinduism and bring people back to the teachings of the Vedas. The Arya Samaj established schools to promote Vedic education and worked to abolish social issues like widow remarriage and women's education.
