On an agreed upon Saturday, the parents came and worked with the students to refill the washed away portion. By evening, the ground was returned to its normal shape, allowing the students to resume playing on their new field.

DFC2009 India : Equipping Anganvadis with with Learning Aids
The students visited local anganwadis (pre-schools) in Manali, Himachal Pradesh to understand their educational needs and provide learning resources. They decided to focus on equipping 7 anganwadis with basic learning materials like toys, flashcards, books and charts. The students made the resources themselves and with contributions from their school. In total they benefited 112 children across the anganwadis. They taught the children and had fun playing with them, bringing joy through their efforts to support early education in their community.
Sharing is fun
A group of children called Anando's Children created exercise books and gift bags of crayons from scrap materials to donate to students at a local primary school. They collected old paper from neighbors, sorted and cut it, bound the pages into books, and decorated the covers. They filled bags with extra crayons and donated 25 exercise books and gift bags to excited Class 1 students. The children overcame initial doubts and found help from many supporters for their project. They were proud that their small project made a positive difference and brought smiles through sharing what they had with others.

They collected 241 items of clothing, 125 toys, and 41 books. The students sorted, repaired, and donated the items, then made over 550 paper bags which they distributed at a local mall to teach others how to reuse materials. They faced challenges in securing tiles, but problem-solved by using fabric instead. With care and multiple drafts, the students transferred their designs onto the fabric tiles. They then sewed the tiles together into a quilt and added a wooden frame to display their work and represent the cultural diversity of Room 13.
