The STEMS project surveyed over 400 students across schools in Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, and Turkey to assess the inclusion of migrant students. Results showed significant differences between countries in relationships with peers and teachers as well as academic expectations. German students reported the highest levels of social integration and relationships, while Italian and Turkish students reported the lowest. All countries need to improve migrant student inclusion, though Germany has made more progress according to students. The study highlights the need to share best practices for supporting migrant students across Europe.
