Gerindra was an emerging political party in Indonesia that attracted significant youth support during the 2009 election campaign. It was founded by Prabowo Subianto, who narrowly lost the presidential election, but received support from urban youth voters. Gerindra used innovative strategies through its youth wing, Tidar, to attract young people, including an engaging website, hip-hop music videos, and events tailored to youth subcultures. However, Tidar needs to continue evolving from just content to a more substantive youth movement to remain relevant.
