In this concluding lesson the class will examine a “case study” of a couple dealing with sexual issues and how the principles we have studied can be applied to resolve their difficulties.
The document discusses the topic of love and finding true love. It states that love remains a mystery that science cannot explain. It also discusses seven steps to finding true love, including revealing your true self to another and accepting vulnerability, as well as recognizing that true love comes from God alone. The document encourages praying to God to heal a broken heart and find a sense of worth and value through His unconditional love.
The document discusses Paul's views on marriage, sex, and self-control as expressed in 1 Corinthians 7:1-9. It outlines God's plan as including lifelong marriage between one man and one woman, with premarital sex violating this ideal. Both husbands and wives have equal sexual demands in marriage. Paul acknowledges it is better to marry than burn with passion, and writes to correct twisted views his readers held, advising unmarried or widowed people to marry if unable to exercise self-control.
This document discusses views on divorce and remarriage from a biblical perspective. It summarizes that while God hates divorce, he allows it for serious sins like sexual immorality or desertion that break the marriage covenant. Jesus permits divorce only for sexual sins, not other reasons. The document examines biblical passages and principles, concluding that God makes allowances for human frailty and offers mercy, but divorce should only be pursued after attempts at reconciliation have failed due to severe sins. Remarriage is permissible for those divorced for biblically acceptable reasons.
This document discusses the nature of love from a Catholic perspective. It begins by explaining that God freely created humans to share in his blessed life of love, truth, beauty and joy. Just as people enjoy a good movie and invite others to see it, God wants to invite us to share in his abundant life. It then contrasts love, defined as willing the good of another, with lust, which is a disordered desire for sexual pleasure. Love requires commitment, sacrifice and putting another's needs before one's own. In contrast, lust is selfish and treats others as objects. The document provides advice on discerning between love, infatuation and lust. It stresses that love is demanding but also allows one to find fulfillment through

In our new series, we learn that the question of whether we will get in trouble for this or that, but rather what do we need to do in order to run as hard as we can for God.
1) The document discusses Jesus as our high priest who offers the final sacrifice for our sins.
2) As sinners, we need an intermediary to deal with God and atone for our sins, which for centuries was done through animal sacrifices by priests.
3) The Bible prophesied a new covenant where Jesus would fulfill the role of high priest through his ultimate sacrifice on the cross to forgive sins once and for all.

To secure your place in Heaven, all you have to do is believe! God's grace plus your faith plus nothing! Once saved, always saved! Jesus knows you're not perfect and never will be—and He loves you just the same!
The document discusses the Catholic theology of human sexuality and relationships. It teaches that sexuality is meant by God to be beautiful, sacred, and point us toward heaven. It explores how true love is defined as wanting the best for others over oneself. God's love for humanity is presented as the model - it is free, total, faithful, and fruitful. Freedom is explained as the ability to choose good. Sexual relationships are meant by God to involve complete self-gift between spouses, modeled on Christ's love and sacrifice.
The Holy Spirit brings people to faith in Jesus and sanctifies them through the means of God's Word and sacraments. The Spirit uses the gospel message found in Scripture and Baptism and Lord's Supper to wash away sins, turn people from the sinful world to be holy, and create and strengthen saving faith in believers. Without the Spirit's work through these means, no one could come to faith on their own due to our sinful, spiritually blind nature.
This chapter discusses faith and the importance of walking by faith rather than by sight. It encourages walking by faith in the year 2008. The chapter notes that while people want change in their lives and in various institutions, true change must first come from within each individual. Walking by faith means trusting God even when we cannot see the outcome.
Galatians 5 discusses living freely through God's spirit and not being subject to religious rules or slavery. It warns that living by religious plans instead of grace cuts one off from Christ. The chapter encourages living freely and animated by the spirit, and working out the implications of this spiritual life in everyday actions.

This document contains a collection of quotes and passages on topics like contentment, family, faith, love, and living purposefully. Some key ideas expressed are enjoying life's simple pleasures, finding fulfillment in using one's talents to help others, and believing you already have what you need to be happy.
The author recounts the death of their grandmother, which left them feeling angry, depressed, and without guidance. For six years, the author struggled to cope with the loss. While sitting alone on the beach, the author heard a voice tell them to "let go." Seeking answers, the author attended church and heard a sermon about relying on God rather than people. The author realized they had to accept their grandmother's passing and strengthen their faith. This experience helped the author transform into an independent person who motivates others and works to honor their grandmother's legacy through their career goals and community service.
This sermon discusses the story of Jesus healing a blind man in Mark 8. It notes that the blind man's condition is all that is known about him, and that others brought him to Jesus. When Jesus first heals the man, his vision is still imperfect, but he acknowledges seeing something. The key point is that the man responds that this is "not enough" - he is hungry for more healing. Jesus then fully heals and restores his sight. The sermon encourages people to have a hunger for more of what God can do in their lives, and to ask for more instead of being satisfied with little progress.
The document discusses theology of the body and provides Catholic teachings on love, sexuality, marriage, and purity. It addresses why Christians should save sex for marriage, the differences between love and lust, and myths about topics like contraception, safe sex, and sexuality. The overall message encourages living a chaste life as a path to happiness, integrity, and closeness to God.
This document contains testimonials from two individuals about their journeys from darkness to finding light in Christ. The first testimony describes a life full of selfishness, sex, drugs and putting things before family, until hitting rock bottom from a divorce and struggling business. This led to finding God's word and promises, which drew the individual to Christ. Christ gave peace, purpose and overcoming what they once were. Now the Holy Spirit guides them to help others.
The second testimony describes a life centered around selfish desires and staying drunk/high to cope. Through treatment and accepting Christ, the individual realized they were believing lies that kept them in bondage. Reading the Bible transformed their thoughts and God began changing them. Now Christ

The document discusses the concept of forgiveness through several biblical passages. It emphasizes that Christians should forgive others as God forgives us through Christ. Forgiving others who have wronged us allows us to inherit God's forgiveness, just as God erased our sins and debts. Small group settings can help people learn to forgive from examples in the Bible where Jesus forgave others, even while dying on the cross. In conclusion, if God can forgive us, then as Christians we should be able to forgive others as well.
The document discusses the importance of forgiveness based on biblical teachings. It explains that Jesus was willing to forgive even those who crucified him, and that believers should seek to have forgiveness in their hearts like Jesus. It also discusses how forgiveness is necessary to receive God's forgiveness, and how Jesus and his sacrifice provide the basis for forgiveness and salvation. The document uses the parable of the prodigal son to illustrate lessons about pride, envy, patience, and reconciliation, and encourages readers to be willing to forgive others as God and Jesus forgive.
The speaker expresses their deep love and gratitude for Beckie. Over the past four years, the speaker thought often of Beckie and prayed for her during difficult times. The speaker was reminded of their own past challenges when seeing Beckie's heart get crushed. They asked God to help free Beckie from chaos, and although there are not enough words, the speaker loves Beckie more with each day and breath.

Dreams & mysteries notes blessing and cursingKaturi Susmitha
This document discusses various famous curses throughout history like the Curse of the Bambino and the Curse of the Hope Diamond. It then explores blessings and curses in the Bible, noting that curses came into the world through Adam and Eve's sin but that Jesus took curses upon himself. It explains that blessings and curses come from words and can set spiritual forces in motion. Blessings were God's original intent for humanity to subdue the earth. The document encourages speaking blessings over oneself to counter curses and live freely under God's blessings.
Sex is portrayed differently by culture and some churches than how God intends it. God designed sex for marriage to reflect Christ's self-giving love, promote oneness between spouses, and overcome sin through faith and contentment, not primarily for pleasure or self-improvement. Sex points beyond the physical to greater spiritual realities.
The document discusses what the Bible says about love, courtship, and marriage. It provides several passages from the Bible about love being patient and kind. It then discusses courtship, noting the Bible warns about dating non-Christians or recreational dating. Engagement should be a time to guard one's heart. The Bible says marriage should be between one man and one woman, and sexual activity should only occur within marriage.

God created sex and views it as beautiful gift within marriage. The document discusses biblical passages about the marital duty of husbands and wives to fulfill each other's sexual needs. It notes how pornography tempts people away from finding sexual satisfaction only within marriage. The document advises couples to work at their sexual relationship and respect each other's needs, as men desire to feel wanted by their wives while women want their emotional needs met first. Homework is assigned to discuss differences in each partner's views on sex.

This document provides guidance on honoring one's wedding vows. It discusses how competing brain systems can lead to issues with lust and infidelity. King David's adultery is examined as an example of this problem. Ascetical practices like penance and mortification of the flesh are recommended to strengthen the will. Building a spiritual plan of life including prayer, confession, and accountability is advised. Honoring vows to one's spouse is presented as a pathway to union with God. The document concludes with questions for self-evaluation on faithfulness to one's marriage.
Christian home marital relations 4 of 4Nirmal Nathan
The document discusses biblical perspectives on sexuality and intimacy within marriage. It emphasizes that physical intimacy is an important part of the marital relationship when done within the boundaries of faithfulness and purity. It also provides advice for married couples on understanding each other's physical needs and maintaining attraction through dressing nicely and spending quality time together.
The sermon discusses reconnecting with one's spouse after military deployment. It emphasizes reconnecting emotionally through love and respect, as well as reconnecting sexually through open communication, patience, and flexibility. Military marriages face adjustments to living arrangements, roles, and responsibilities as well as baggage from deployment. The sermon encourages focusing on love over expressions of love in order to reconnect.
The document discusses views on sex, premarital relationships, and masturbation from a religious perspective. It presents arguments that:
1) Sex was created by God for the loving union of husband and wife within marriage to bond the couple and allow procreation. Premarital sex risks damaging future relationships and marriage.
2) Masturbation that involves lustful thoughts is sinful according to scripture. It can also lead to sexual addiction and experimentation with unclean acts.
3) Not masturbating is not unhealthy as the body naturally reabsorbs unused sperm cells, and any residual secretions are released through nocturnal emissions. Remaining pure allows one to live a holy life as called by God
Relationships, sex, and love for all agesClaudia Nunes
The document discusses various topics related to relationships, sex, and love for all ages. It defines sex as an energetic connection between partners that extends beyond the physical act. It notes that spirits have no gender and incarnate as both men and women. The law of attraction states that like energies attract, so it's important to consider what type of people one connects with sexually. Affectionate commitment and family relations that result from sex require balance and consideration for others. Sexual control and abstinence should not be done for selfish reasons but left to individual responsibility and choice.
1 Corinthians 7;1-14, Marital Sexual Obligation; Satan Can Tempt Christians; Burning With Lust; Forbidding Marriage; Can Divorced Men Be Pastors?; Is Marriage About Love?; Living In Sin And Common Law Marriage; Fornication Or Married; Divorce?
1) God's plan for sex is that it occurs within the context of marriage between a man and a woman. Sex is intended to bond a couple together as "one flesh".
2) For singles, God calls them to purity and resisting sexual immorality by focusing on spiritual worship and personal transformation. Dating should be done in groups and with guidance.
3) In marriage, sex should be pure, intimate, unifying the couple through their bodies as recommended in Scripture. Spouses should meet each other's needs and see themselves as servants to their partner.
This document discusses human sexuality and chastity. It defines sexuality as the physical, psychological, and relational characteristics that make us male or female. Our sexuality is a gift from God meant to foster loving relationships. All people should be treated with equal respect regardless of gender. While sex often refers narrowly to sexual acts, sexuality is broader and encompasses our identity. Parents have the primary role in educating children about sexuality. Chastity allows one to control sexual urges and become better integrated persons. Obstacles to chastity include masturbation, premarital sex, pornography, prostitution, and homosexual acts. We should respect our bodies as made in God's image and use sexuality to build loving relationships.

This document discusses the sin of masturbation and argues that it is harmful and against God's design. It provides several reasons for this view:
1) Masturbation excites the body to unnatural action and speeds exhaustion of vital energies, leading to physical and mental decline.
2) It begins with lustful thoughts, which Jesus said can be a form of adultery. It also often involves fantasy and pornography.
3) While it may provide temporary relief, it actually increases sexual desire over time and enslaves people to lust.
4) True purity can only be found in resisting sinful thoughts, not choosing between "lesser evils." God empowers us to overcome all sin through

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

7. Case Study
“Brenda kept apologizing for the feelings she was
sharing. She didn’t want to hurt her husband,
Kevin, but she’d kept her thoughts hidden for too
long. Now, for the sake of her marriage, she was
glad that everything was finally coming out. Kevin
was sitting next to Brenda in my counseling office,
but he wished he could be somewhere else.”
8. Case Study
“ ‘I know I’m not supposed to exaggerate,” Brenda
began, ‘but it seems that every time we’re alone,
Kevin makes some sexually suggestive comment
aimed at getting me to have sex with him. I feel like he
must spend his days coming up with new lines to try
and get me to say yes.
9. Case Study
And if it’s not a comment, it’s a grab. I can be cooking
or doing the dishes, and he’ll come up behind me and
plant both of his hands on my breasts. A hug would
be great. But he can’t seem to touch me without it
being an erogenous zone.’”
10. Case Study
“Now Kevin really wanted to be somewhere else.
Brenda assured me that she didn’t hate sex. ‘I can
get aroused, and sometimes I even have an orgasm.
But the more Kevin pushes, the less I want to have
sex. The more he talks about ‘doing it,’ the more I
feel that sex between us is just that: a cold
impersonal ‘it.’
11. Case Study
And have you begun to feel like an ‘it’ too?’ I asked.
‘Yes. Yes I have.’”
“Now Kevin wanted me to be somewhere else.
Brenda’s story is another sad example of how much
we’re missing in our sex lives. By losing sight of sex
as a holy act, we’re depriving ourselves of the
richness and deep satisfaction that God designed it
to provide.
12. Case Study
“Since sex is invested with so much spiritual
meaning, that should affect the way we approach our
moments of sexual intimacy – but how? When we
acknowledge the truth that sex on God's terms is
sacred, we can stop fighting about frequency,
positions, and who initiates it.”
- “Sacred Sex” T.A. Gardner Waterbrook Press 2002
21. God sews us together
in marriage through
human sexuality.
22. Sex pursued for its own
pleasure always follows the
path of diminishing return.
23. The pursuit of oneness affects
not only the way we think about
sex, but also the way we
experience it was well.
24. I Cor. 7:3-4
3 The
husband must fulfill his duty to his wife,
and likewise also the wife to her husband.
4 The wife does not have authority over her
own body, but the husband does; and
likewise also the husband does not have
authority over his own body, but the
wife does.
25. I Cor. 7:5
5 Stop
depriving one another, except by
agreement for a time, so that you may
devote yourselves to prayer, and come
together again so that Satan will not tempt
you because of your lack of self-control.
26. In sexual union my focus is her
pleasure, not my own.
And her focus is my pleasure,
not her own.
