2. Sun tan lotions may include indoor tanning creams or
sunblock. These products have different purposes.
Sunblock, or sunscreen, is used to block the skin from
the UV radiation that the sun gives off. Indoor tanning
creams are used with tanning devices to help with the
process.
3. Ingredients found in tanning products vary. Typically
they include ingredients such as melanin and L-Tyrosine.
Copper, oils, tea extracts and elements that offer
moisturizer and bronzer to the skin may be included too.
These products are not made for use outside because
they do not contain active ingredients that protect skin.
4. The creams work by increasing melanin in the skin. This
can be done in one of two ways: boosting melanin
production or increasing blood circulation. These
products are designed to be used with sunbeds that that
produce UV rays similar to that given off from the sun.
5. Sunblock may be used outside. It is made using a
formula that is able to take in or reflect UV light.
Sunscreens are often used to keep skin from burning,
also known as sunburn. This formula may come in a
spray, gel or lotion.
6. Sunscreen usually includes one of the following:
inorganic particulates, organic particulates, chemical
compounds. This product can be categorized as physical
or chemical. The difference between the two is the
function. Chemical formulas work by absorbing UV light.
On the other hand, physical formulas are used to reflect
UV light. It is suggested that everyone use sunscreen to
prevent skin cancer, sunburn and similar skin afflictions
caused by sun exposure.
7. Common types of sun tan lotions include tanning cream
or sunblock products. Sunscreen is applied as a
protectant of the skin, specifically when in situations
that involve prolonged exposure to sun. Tanning cream,
along with other devices made to tan the skin, improves
the technique of sunless tanning and may also
moisturize and bronze skin.
