How Second Life, OpenSimulator, Quest Atlantis, Unity3D/Jibe and other immersive virtual environments are revolutionizing education. The 2011 Horizon Report K-12 edition says games-based learning will be mainstream in schools in 2-3 years. David W. Deeds and his colleagues at Changchun American International School in China have had great success with 3D virtual worlds and you can too! CAIS hopes to lead the International Baccalaureate into the 21st century of education by helping to spearhead a K-12 OpenSimulator Grid, a series of Second Life islands, or both!
