This document summarizes research on immediate dental implants placed at the time of tooth extraction. It finds that immediate implants have a high success rate of 92.7-98% and have advantages over delayed implantation like reduced bone resorption and shorter treatment time. Immediate implants require careful extraction to preserve bone and cleaning of the socket. Primary stability is key and is achieved by placing the implant deeper than the apex or using a wider implant. The literature lacks consensus on bone regeneration techniques. A case report then describes immediately placing and loading implants in a patient after extracting loose front teeth.
