The document discusses imgZine, a platform for creating real-time social magazines. It provides standardized tools and apps that allow publishers to create digital magazines that can be updated in real-time and accessed across devices. Publishers can be up and running on imgZine in just weeks and it offers cost-effective and flexible publishing options.
This document outlines TaskDoer, a new platform that allows users to outsource mundane tasks to personal assistants. It begins by introducing TaskDoer and its value proposition of helping users focus on first priorities by outsourcing secondary tasks. Examples of common tasks that could be outsourced are provided. Competition in the freelance marketplace is discussed, with TaskDoer differentiating by targeting individuals seeking convenience. A demo of the TaskDoer process is shown, with users submitting tasks, assistants bidding, tasks being completed, and both parties rating each other. The revenue model and plans for future development including demand validation, a closed beta, and new features for version 2 are then outlined.
Lessons in Dishonesty - How we cheat ourselves into making decisionsBrendan Quinn
The document summarizes key findings from Dan Ariely's book on dishonesty. It describes experiments showing that people often cheat a little but rationalize it to maintain a self-image of honesty. In a matrix task, participants overreported correct answers by 50% on average when unwatched. Varying money or detection probability did not impact cheating levels. People are also more likely to rationalize dishonesty when tired, hungry or in a conflict of interest situation. Having luxury goods can make people feel more honest. Signing agreements or considering moral codes at the outset can reduce dishonesty.

University-Business Cooperation Country Report FranceTodd Davey
The university-business cooperation in France is above the European average in most types of cooperation but documented strategies need to be translated into real actions. Specifically:
1) France performs above the European average in most areas of university-business cooperation.
2) While France has documented strategies for university-business cooperation, these strategies need to be implemented in real actions and activities.
3) If France can better translate its documented cooperation strategies into concrete cooperative activities and actions between universities and businesses, it has the potential to further strengthen university-business cooperation.

The presentation shows results from the largest study into cooperation between European HEIs and business. The Science-to-Business Marketing Research Centre in Münster, Germany (S2BMRC) is proud to present the results of the first major study on UBC in Europe. Conducted for the DG Education and Culture at the European Commission (EC) during 2010 and 2011, the study not only provides a benchmark for European UBC, but also to outline potential reasons, influencing factors, drivers and barriers to UBC as well as offering recommendations for the future.
Some facts:
The survey was translated in 22 languages,
6,280 survey-responses from academics and HEI representatives,
30 good practice UBC case studies.

This document discusses modeling network traffic behaviors to detect botnets. It proposes modeling individual network connections as state sequences based on flow size, duration, and periodicity. Connections are grouped by source/destination IP, port, and protocol. Labeled network data is used to train Markov chain models of normal and botnet connection behaviors. These models are then tested on unlabeled data to detect similar behaviors and identify botnet connections with over 70% accuracy on average. Compared methods achieve lower accuracy rates, showing this behavioral modeling approach is effective for botnet detection.

13. Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
werkvloer
(Gartner 2013)
inschiet
● Organisatiecultuur ontmoedigt open communicatie (hierarchie)
● Persoonlijke mobiele apparaten zijn niet toegestaan (28%)
● Er is geen wifi beschikbaar (39%)
dollar kost (Ponemon Institute 2013).
Interne communicatie is hier een onderdeel van. Uit onderzoek blijkt dat goede communicatie
tussen medewerkers in de gezondheidszorg:
● de kwaliteit van werkrelaties positief beïnvloedt (The Victorian Quality Council 2010)
● de tevredenheid van werknemer verhoogt
● leidt tot effectief en efficiënt werken
● de interdisciplinaire communicatie verbetert (O’Daniel & Rosenstein 2007)

· Real-time informatie is belangrijk in een tijdskritische omgeving.
