ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
 The Institute situated at Kufri, in the lap of the Himalayas, started
as a Food Craft Institute in the year 1984 for Conducting 1 year
Diploma Courses.
 In 1996, the Institute was upgraded to Institute of Hotel
Management offering a 3 years Diploma in Hotel Management,
affiliated to the National Council for Hotel Management &
Catering Technology (NCHMCT) at Noida, which is an apex
body in the country for educational & professional training in
Hospitality Management and Operations.
 In year 2002, the 3 years Diploma Programme in Hotel
Management was upgraded to a 3 year Degree in Hotel
Management by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
 The Institute is running the following Courses:-
• 3-Year B.Sc. Degree In Hospitality & Hotel
Administration Programme.
• One and half year Diploma in Food & Beverage
Service.
• One and half year Diploma in Food Production.
 Total Intake of the students:-
• 3-Year B.Sc. Degree Programme --- 307 students (for
1st Year).
• 1½ Year Diploma in Food & Beverage Service --- 60
students.
• 1½ Year Diploma in Food Production --- 60 students.
 Total students enrolled (2016-17):-
• In 3-Year B.Sc. Degree Programme --- 696 students.
• 1½ Year Diploma in Food & Beverage Service --- 51
students
 Short Term Courses being Conducted by the Institute:-
• Hunar se Rozgar Tak, Sponsored by Ministry of
Tourism, Government of India.
• Skill Testing and Certification Course, Sponsored by
Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
• Special Courses for Disabled Students, Sponsored by
Social justice & Empowerment, Government of
Himachal Pradesh.
 The Institute has following Staff Strength:-
• Academic Staff --- 23 Nos.
• Administrative Staff --- 25 Nos.
• Outsourced Staff -- 41 Nos.
INFRASTRUCTURE & FACILITIES IN THE INSTITUTE
The Institute has the following infrastructure available:
 Seven Food Production Training Labs.
 Two Training Restaurants.
 Three Housekeeping Labs.
 One Front Office Lab.
 Twelve well equipped Class rooms.
 One centrally heated Auditorium.
 One fully equipped Library.
 Two Hostels with a total intake of 200 Students.
 Student’s Cafeteria.
 Guest House.
 Recreational Area.
 Computer Lab.
A new OBC Block for the students was inaugurated
on 8th April 2016 which was fully funded by Ministry
of Tourism, Govt. of India.
PLACEMENTS AND RESULTS
 Placement in the Year 2015-16:-
• 224 students appeared in the Final Year.
• 126 students were placed in Leading Hotels of India.
• 98 students opted for pursuing Further Studies.
 Placement in the Year 2016-17:-
• 197 students appeared in the Final Year.
• 129 students were placed in Leading Hotels of India.
• 66 students opted for pursuing Further Studies.
• 02 students joined their family business.

EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES OF THE INSTITUTE
 The Institute participated in the “Apple Festival” organised
by Himachal Tourism and exhibited different dishes made
from Apple.
 The Institute celebrated “World Tourism Day” on 27th Sep,
2016 by organizing different cultural events and organised
‘Himachali Dham’ at reasonable price to the Tourists and
Visitors.
 The Institute also pledged itself for “Swach Bharat
Abhiyan”, a flagship programme of Central Government, by
organising cleanliness drive within the College premises
from 25th to 27th Dec 2016.
 During the last 2 years the Students won the following Prizes/
Awards:-
 In the Year 2015-16
 2nd Runner up in KalaKriti Sangam at IHM Chennai.
 1st Runner up in North India Patisserie competition
at CIHM Chandigarh.
 In the Year 2016-17
 1st Runner up in Ornamental Cake Making at IHM
Gwalior.
 3rd Prize in Quiz Competition at CIHM Chandigarh.
 3rd Prize in Flower Competition at Chandiwala
Hospitality Ensemble, New Delhi.
 2nd Prize in Rice Culinary Competition
at Chandiwala Hospitality Ensemble, New Delhi.
 Following programs were organised by the IHM in
respect of Personality Development of the Students:-
 Guest lectures by the reputed Hoteliers/
professionals.
 Theme Lunch.
 Intra College Competitions (Kitchen, Bakery
etc).
 Quiz Competitions.
 Indoor Sports Competition (table tennis,
badminton etc).
ANNUAL REPORT /AUDITED ACCOUNTS
OF THE INSTITUTE
 The Institute regularly prepares its Annual Report after the
Statutory Audit done by Charted Accountant, highlighting the
different activities undertaken by the Institute in the year and
submit the same to Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India.
 The Annual Accounts of the Institute are being Prepared as per
the common format of Accounts received from Ministry of
Finance (CGA) for the Central Autonomous Bodies (Non Profit
Organizations).
 The Internal Audit of the Institute is carried out by Ministry of
Civil Aviation & Tourism, Principal Accounts Office, Internal
Audit Wing.
