The Department of Education test students physical fitness in school.
It is called the Fitnessgram.
The Fitnessgram test 5 different categories. Muscle strength Muscle endurance Cardiovascular Flexibilty Body Mass Index.
Muscular strength-push ups or pull ups.
Muscular endurance- sit ups.
Cardiovascular- Running
Flexibility- Sit-n-Reach
Flexibility- Trunk Lift
Body Mass Index (BMI) can be figured out by using height, weight, and age.
Students must reach a benchmark in each category.
The benchmark is based on BMI.
The Fitnessgram will give results.
Results will either be “IN” or “OUT” of Fitness Zone.
Results will be given to State Department of Education.
Results will be given to parents.
Suggestions will be given to maintain or improve fitness.
