Why creating a start-up makes sense? TAIEX Moldova - June 2013Pim de Bokx
During this conference in Chisinau (Capital of Moldova) I shared my vision and experience on why start-ups make sense for any economy and how success rates can be upgraded by effective incubation programs. In this workshop we also brainstormed about how the performance of incubation can be measured real-time!
Our audience in Chisinau came from government, academia, incubation, finance and business. I was honored to be invited by TAIEX (European Technical Assistance bureau) to come over and share my experience. It was my first time there and hope it won't be my last time.

Encouraging knowledge transfer - TAIEX Moldova - June 2013Pim de Bokx
Why 'knowledge transfer' is first about 'talent development' before anything else - this is from a societal point of view. Secondly it is about connectivity and compatibility. In my interactive presentation I illustrate my opinion with examples from The Netherlands like Innovation Auctions, Innovation Vouchers and SBIR. Offcourse also the Cluster-Incubation formula (BViT) to foster knowledge transfer through start-up/spin-offs is highlighted.

Companies large and small are seeking non-linear growth and hence driving innovation has become a priority. Yet, many companies struggle to bring their big ideas to life.
This is because the real innovation challenge lies beyond just the idea, in the long journey from imagination to business impact.
In this course, participants understand how to manage the competing demands of running today’s business while creating tomorrow’s. This course is developed by one of the world’s leading authorities on innovation, professor Vijay Govindarajan, or “VG”. The framework for successfully managing innovation is simple, yet powerful, and it’s called the 3 Box Solution.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
