This document summarizes two community projects in Caparica, Portugal that use ethnomathematics as a liberating pedology. The first project is ALM Adults Learning Mathematics, a non-formal group of adults learning mathematics both formally and non-formally to earn their high school degree. The second project is Fronteiras Urbanas Urban Boundaries, a non-formal group focused on recognition, learning, and political action in the local community around issues like racism and multiculturalism. Both projects use ethnomathematics as a tool for liberation and social recognition in their local communities.
