ICDS
Introduction
ICDS stands for Integrated Child Development Services, which is a
government program in India that provides a range of services to children
under the age of 6 and their mothers.
- ICDS is a flagship program of the Government of India that aims to
improve the health, nutrition, and education of children in the country.
The program was launched in 1975 and is one of the largest programs of
its kind in the world.

A centrally sponsored scheme that aims to improve the
well-being of children in vulnerable situations. It covers
children in need of care and protection, as well as children
in conflict with the law.
- Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS)
A centrally sponsored scheme that provides a package of services to children under 6 years old, as well as
pregnant and lactating mothers.
- Scheme for Welfare of Working Children in Need of Care and Protection
Provides opportunities for working children to re-enter or enter mainstream education, including non-
formal education and vocational training.
- Rajiv Gandhi Scheme for Empowerment of Adolescent Girls (RGSEAG)-SABLA
Aims to develop adolescent girls between the ages of 11 and 18 by providing access to learning, health,
and nutrition.
- PM CARES for Children scheme
Provides a lump sum amount of ₹50,000 per year to each student to help pay for college fees, books,
stationery, equipment, and more.
- Chief Minister’s Girl Child Protection Scheme-I
Provides a fixed deposit of ₹50,000 in the name of a girl child, along with an annual incentive of ₹1,800
from the 6th
year of the deposit. The amount deposited, plus any interest, is given to the girl child when
she turns 18.
