However, neither scale worked well for very large epics. They adapted by using a recently sized existing epic as a benchmark and rescaling. This allowed them to estimate the sizes of three sample epics as 5, 8, and 20 epic points, providing high-level sizing while addressing the issues of comparing variable epics.
